About
Soda City Market is a producer-only market — vendors must make or grow their own products (including out of season/exotic fruits and vegetables, antiques, and vintage items). Everything sold at our market is unique, hand crafted, and produced in the Southeast. The market fields an average of 150 vendors per week, and over 400 unique vendors throughout the year! Soda City Market is Columbia’s weekly Main Street event inspired by traditional European street markets. In partnership with Founders Federal Credit Union, we’re open every Saturday morning 9 a.m. –1 p.m., year-round, rain or shine! Find everything you need to nourish your brain, body, and belly—and help establish Columbia as the real southern hotspot for locals and visitors alike. Soda City Market is a microcosm of Columbia, a melting pot of cultures, and an inviting community experience worth making a part of your regular weekend routine.

My family and I visited this event today; 8 adults, 1 toddler, and 1 infant. It is a family-friendly event but not catered specifically for children or teenagers.

There are a variety of vendors that sell clothing, artifacts, drinks, miscellaneous items etc. There is also live music throughout the event. We had a lot of fun and was able to purchase some neat items and eat some good treats.

Event is from 9 AM to 1 PM. I was a bit surprised that there were no portable bathrooms available for the attendees. We had to walk around to find someplace that would let us use their facility’s bathroom. This was very inconvenient.

I had the chance to check out the Soda City Market while in town. There was a lot of people selling locally made products and locally grown produce. There was quite a lot of variety of stuff you can purchase and look at. I highly recommend checking out the Soda City Market if you’re in town. It’s a great glimpse into the culture of Columbia and the state of South Carolina as a whole.

You really get us. Thank you! It looks like you're from Central Florida. Have you checked out the market around Lake Eola? That used to be my stomping ground for a year or so. See you back in Columbia soon? Bring your friends and let's make it a Soda City street party!

What a wonderful market. It's not only a "farmer's market" (what we've expected), no, it's like kind of a festival. Live music, crafted goods, food - even vegan food, finally - flowers, lemonade, musicians, happy people, it was wonderful.

Yow! What's with all the hype? Nice crowd, so I guess this is the best Columbia has to offer. Some nice craft items, but over-priced food and used clothing booths are a complete turn off.
Do yourself a favor and head to the Greenville Main St. Farmers Market on Saturdays.
Upscale crafts, better value food choices...plus a waterfall!!

This is a must if you're visiting the area or have recently moved here. Bring your pup!! There are tons of dogs every weekend. The vendors offer awesome, handmade, unique items. The popcorn stand is something you absolutely have to stop and try. Plus, come with an appetite. The food is incredible!!

As a non-resident I was happily surprised by this street market. This was predominantly handmade local crafts and food. The food was a certain surprise from delicious Jamaican, Venezuelan, Mexican, and, of course Southern staples of grits and biscuits. Most pleasant in the food options was that only a few stands were selling French fries, hot dogs, and deep fried Oreos; the rest was real cuisine. I would recommend this to family, residents and non-residents as a cultural surprise for “Cola, SC.”

Soda City Market is my favorite way to spend a Saturday morning! Local vendors, farmers, food trucks and artists gather and set up small “pop up” shops to sell their products. You can get a whole box of produce for about $10. All different types of food and cute goods to buy. Even if you don’t eat or shop the bustling Main Street area is lovely to walk through. Dog friendly, kid friendly! Don’t miss it!

We were here on our second visit to Columbia. This time to move our kid into USC. Good vibe, friendly vendors. Lots of food and coffee with some local crafts. Enjoyed some live music playing as well. It was a brisk, sunny day in January. We were not sure if parking, so we did pay to park in a garage; not sure if options. Hope to figure out for next visit.

Beautiful, well shaded, urban street lined with food trucks and other booths offering produce, flowers, dog treats, art, pottery etc. We arrived around 12:45 and sad to see some vendors already packing up. We had a nice stroll looking at the booths and a few snacks... until my 3 year old had to potty and we discovered there were no public facilities, the front desk attendant at the Marriott refused to allow us entry, Starbucks was closed, and the other restaurants would only allow customers to use restrooms. Hopefully the organizers will address this oversight for future.

This is supposed to be a market. We saw 2 stands with a little bit of veggies or fruits (laughable) that were totally overpriced and lots and lots of food stands...and stuff nobody needs that the people called art. Everything hugely overpriced. I took friends from Europe here and they were not impressed at all. To the contrary. This might be something for tourists to spend a Saturday morning just to walk over and laugh about the prices (5 small herb mixes to create a dip $20, really????), but as a local I think it is a joke. Get more real farmers with their products to come and with sensible pricing and I will come back.
