Could not find anything like that picture in the Congaree. It must have been in the Park that was close by. BUT just go to FIVE POINTS. Trendy, quirky find the Hootie and the Blowfish statue/art work. Then Eat at YESTERDAYS. Then get the heck out of Columbia NOT much there.

For the teens and their parents. Take an industrial factory area from the late 1800s and redo some of the buildings into chic restaurants leaving just enough of the remaining buildings in their original and gritty state = a popular, happening urban downtown albeit small. What's not to like? Art galleries, shopping in beautiful faded brick buildings, chain restaurants on... More

We enjoy going out to eat sat many of the new restaurants in the Vista. However, we go much less than we would because the parking and traffic flow situation is horrible. You have to know the Columbia streets and turns, which I do, very well to be able navigate and find decent parking near the venues. Good parking north... More

Where the college world meets the working world and convenience is king. Lots of places to eat, meet your classmates or colleagues for a meal or to grab a drink. Great area to go if you are undecided of where to eat. You can even grab a play or event at Trustus theater walking distance from most areas in vista.

The Vista is a great gathering place for young professionals, students, and older people. There are so many restaurants, shops, and special events there. Don't miss out on the open air markets that they have every week!

Make sure to bring your camera. There are plenty of photo ops. The only complaint is the amount of homeless people sitting in all of the benches and swings. They don't bother you, but it is a little intimidating. The park is beautiful and worth the time to walk all of the grounds. We had to park on the street... More

This is where Columbia is hot. It is bustling business by day and then it has nightlife on all levels. It has plenty of paid and public parking. Well lit unlike Main Street or Five Points. And with the crowds it is way safer. So, shop, dine, party!

I mark my calendar every year in November for the evening Vista Lights event. It is so much fun with free food, samples, lighting of the Christmas Tree by Blue Marlin, singers, dancers and even a fire barrel in middle of road for free s'mores ! Gervais St is closed and blocked off for traffic at 6:00 pm so you... More
