While walking through Charleston we discovered Washington Square. We didn’t get to enjoy the “sit and relax” aspect of it as it was pouring ( all day) on our visit. Still, umbrellas in hand, we walked through, reading plaques on several monuments there, and could...More

Washington Square park is one of my favorite parks in Charleston. It is well maintained with plenty of big trees and shade to keep you cool on a warm day. This park is next to the courthouses and post office so I regularly find myself...More

This green oasis is bordered by NYU on the South and the beginning of the luxurious 5th Ave on the North. In the South West corner of the park you can watch or play chess. Throughout the park you can lounge on well kept lawns...More

Great little park in French Quarter of Charleston. Quiet, shady and relaxing with a lot of history. Worth stopping. You can also get a walking history tour that starts and ends here.

Washington Square was near the parking garage we chose on our visit to downtown Charleston so it was one of the first places we walked through. The park isn’t that big and there is nothing overly amazing about it but we were excited to be...More

Shady clean park. Three statutes from different historical times Plenty of benches and shade. The mature trees are magnificent. Great place to stop and take a break from walking downtown.

We met our Ghost & Graveyard tour at this park at night. Its a lovely and quiet place. Beautiful tees and flowers. Nice place for a little quiet time in a busy city.

The park itself is not worth a destination visit, but it should be paired with a visit to St. Michael's Church. It's right next door. The one block long park has a brick pathway running through the center of it. Two large statues take up...More

Most people will pass by this park and never learn the history - Was at one time the front yard of the house next to the park. It has several statues that recall the history of Charleston. Worth the short trip to see it.
