Nice guide but 3 of the 5 places were chains that exist within 5 miles of our house in Atlanta....not exactly local cuisine.

I try to do food tours in every city I visit. On this tour, we got an informative history on Charleston food. We sampled grits (with cheese and bacon.. yum), pralines, she crab soup, bacon wrapped shrimp, fried green tomatoes, rice and spices (stopped at a spice shop) all of which represented the food roots of Charleston. The history of food in Charleston was great. I think I would have liked a little more Charleston history (culture, people, events) to go with it.

We visited three restaurants and two food shops. The food was fantastic but Dani our tour guide was so knowledgeable that she enhanced the experience almost beyond the food. The tour was a full two and a half hours but not a lot of walking required. Lots of food history to go with the tasty treats. Highly recommend.

Our second tour with this company. They do an excellent job. Lots of food so go hungry. We only had 1 stop to order a cocktail and I think it would have been nice to have a chance to order a drink at the barbecue place. But that’s the ONLY complaint. The tour is fantastic and a food tour is a MUST when visiting Charleston.

Thanks so much for your review! We always encourage our guests not to eat a lot before our culinary tours. As you mentioned, there is tons to be had throughout! We are sorry you did not have an opportunity to order another drink on the tour. Our focus is of course on the food and sometimes our timing at each restaurant does not afford drink orders. We agree that a culinary tour is a great way to get acquainted with Charleston when visiting. Thanks again! Andrew Kuhn Tour Guide Manager

Beth Briggs Integrated food and the history of Charleston. She brought “History to life” in the foods that we would find right now in the streets of Charleston! Thank you Beth !

Thanks so much for the review! Beth does do an amazing job, bringing as you said "history to life." Often we do not think about food having history, and that is what we like to "bring to the table" on this tour. We are glad you enjoyed your tour with Beth. Andrew Kuhn Tour Guide Manager
