This studio is worth a trip - it is right near the City Market and just down the street from Saint Philips. I have always dreamed of owning an original painting. Most of the paintings at Studio 151 were affordable for an average Joe like me. I love that the studio has tiny paintings easily packable in a suitcase, up to huge paintings worthy of display in the grandest of places. When I passed by, the wall [the one that you would walk into as you enter] beckoned me in because I could see so many lovely paintings of many sizes, which I presumed to mean that I might be able to afford one. And I could! I love that the studio is a co-op of the artists themselves, so each contribute their time to staff it. The two artists I met were very friendly and thoughtful. I am so very thrilled with the piece I purchased here and hope to visit again someday to purchase another painting.

This gallery is full of local artists and has something for everyone. It has moved from East Bay Street to this location near the market. The people who work there are very friendly and can answer any questions about the art. There is also an upstairs with more art. There are various price ranges so you can find something that you like and can afford. It's well worth a look at the paintings if you are in the area.

Studio/co-op just off of City Market with many paintings from local artists and some jewelry. One of the artists, Sandra, was there working on a few of her paintings and she was wonderful to speak with.
