Scott and Roy were great. We did this on a whim and had fun, learned a lot about downtown Charleston and see a lot of the area that we would have missed otherwise. Scott is really passionate about his town and the history. We will do it again when we are in town.

Enjoyed the tour with Al and Gary. Liked being able to have a carriage all to ourselves for a reasonable price.

I love horses so anytime I can do a carriage ride I’ll take it! Our tour guide was super fun and knowledgeable. The tour lasted about an hour and we went around to a lot of historical spots and a couple spooky ones as well. Definitely worth the ride!

We enjoyed the carriage ride, lots of history very well told by the driver. We were lucky to get the South of Broad tour; all the horse drawn carriages stop at a booth to get their route, there's no way to know which tour you'll get.

I have been to Charleston numerous times - brought my friends to for a girls trip and took this carriage tour. I encouraged them to take a tour via horse drawn carriage so that you could see all the different parts of Charleston ( I have been on several before). The guide was horrible. he was recommended by the girl in the stalls because he had been there for so long but he was negative about the city and talked about himself so much. I don't care where you live and that you have a dysfunctional family - I wanted my friends to learn about the city. He didn't even take us by Slave Mart, he mouthed off at one of my friends when she asked a question and didn't tell anything about the cobblestone streets and how they got there - horrible. I have taken carriage rides with Palmetto and the guides were professional, spoke loudly and clearly and didn't tell me what they had for breakfast! I was so disappointed for my friends and embarrassed.

The ride itself was delightful. You do not know what route the carriage will take until you are on it. The city assigns different routes so no single residential area is inundated with carriages, and the driver does not even know until the passengers are loaded. Our problem was our driver spoke too often facing forward (understandably to watch where the horses were traveling). Since we were seated far back, we just could not hear him. This was a disappointment. INSIST ON A CLOSE TO DRIVER SEAT.

My husband and I bought our tickets online for the 4pm tour. When we got to the carriage location, we were asked if we wanted to take the 3:30 tour instead, and so we agreed. We were greeted by Mike who was our tour guide and met Trevor the Belgian horse. Everything was fine until we started moving. My husband and I sat in the front next to Mike, while 2 other families with kids sat behind us. If I only knew then what I know now, I would've just waited for the 4 pm tour. While Mike did an awesome job as our tour guide: he was knowledgeable, funny and engaging, being with the 2 families sitting behind us was the worst experience I've ever had on a tour. I understand, kids will be kids, but if you have kids under 5 acting up AND you as the parent are letting them scream their heads off and egging them to act up as well, then it's not the kid's fault but yours, the parent. The parents weren't doing their jobs as parents, and they just let the kids shout and scream and kick, etc. It was just the worst, my husband and I couldn't wait for the tour to end. Even Mike asked the parents to stop egging the kids. I was livid. To the Charleston Carriage works, I would like to suggest having a designated time, maybe 2 pm and 3 pm, for families with kids to take the tour, and PLEASE don't put couples with other families with kids under 5. If you do happen to have kids acting up and the parents are not doing a damn thing about it, please tell the kids to behave because their noise or behavior is scaring the horse. It is unfair to us as customers when this happens when all we really wanted to do is enjoy Charleston and have an awesome experience here so we can tell our family and friends about it. Although this experience left a bad taste in my mouth, Mike our tour guide was wonderful and we'd do the tour again with him. I just hope this doesn't happen again to anyone.

We picked this company because of the good reviews on TA. They didn’t disappoint. Our driver, I think his name was Blake, kept us entertained the whole time. His knowledge of Charleston and his jokes made the tour enjoyable. This is one of the smaller companies doing carriage tours and we appreciated the friendly staff. Whoever you pick, a carriage tour is a must for first timers to Charleston.

We took the tour of zone 5 this am and had a fantastic guide! Masters in English History and American History, so he knew his stuff! My 15 & 17 year old were all ears, and especially loved the story behind their horses. So loved and taken care off! Will definitely be back and highly recommend! Worth every penny!

We thoroughly enjoyed our city tour even though it was terribly hot that day. Also our driver became ill partway through the tour but the owner quickly took over and completed the tour. I would recommend them. They were also good to their horses and made sure we all knew how they were cared for.
