Overview
See the historic city of Charleston from a historic transportation method—by horse-drawn carriage. You’ll pass by old homes, see decorative ironwork, and learn the history behind city attractions. With a historic Charleston carriage tour departing every 30 minutes, it’s easy to fit this guided tour into your sightseeing itinerary. Plus, meeting at the stables gives you more time to interact with the horses, too.

Our guide was funny and knowledgeable. The only thing was I had some one hard of hearing so he just talked louder but the rest of us loved it. I’m taking my mom next time!!

Loved this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable about Charleston. He added some humor but not overly funny like other tours try. Showed us amazing areas. I understand they try to maximize the amount of riders but wish each party got their own row. A little awkward sitting should to shoulder with strangers. That is minor and would highly recommend. Plus the horses are gorgeous.

There were four in our party. There were several other people in the carriage with us so nice interactions. It was misting out but did not affect joy of the ride. Was nicer without hot temp and blazing sun, so could see sights easier. Our tour guide (sadly I forget his name) was a history teacher and historian, so hugely knowledgeable and super pleasant to talk with. The horse (maybe Gary) had just come off a two week vacation so was really laid back. So very glad we opted to take this tour on Sept 21. Our hint would be to not let a little rain deter you from this activity.

Our Tour Guides for the day were Will (The Human) and Mikie ( the tour de natural- a/k/a Power Horse). We can't say enough about the tour, but mostly the enthusiam Will had during this adventure. Very insightfull and knowledable. Will's ability to provide the history and ambiance of this Town will be a memory my husband and I will cherish always. He engaged with everyone on the ride and did his best to connect to all of us according to where we lived. We would HIGHLY recommend Charleston Carriage Works when visiting in Charleston. You can walk, which we did, Uber or use the shuttle. Thank you again, Charleston Carriage Works but most especially Will and Mikie.
