My husband insisted we walk/run this. I was like yeah? Eh okay. Well I’m glad he was annoying about it because it was an unforgettable experience. We went right after sunset and the colors mixed with the lights of the boats and city were stunning. Running across this bridge at night with the cars whirring by will probably be the most alive I’ll feel of 2021

This beautiful bridge handles mega-amounts of vehicles every day. There is ample space/ lane on each side to walk. Run, or bike and is very safe. It is free to cross n gives you direct access to Charleston proper when traveling South on US 17.

Amazing views and gorgeous bridge! Fascinating bridge and architecture. You can view the bridge from the waterfront park, from the Fort Sumter ferry, from a harbor cruise, driving on it, or walking across it. It’s really a nice bridge and it takes on different shades/colors depending on the angle you’re looking at it. On our way back from Fort Sumter, at one time, it looked black. Other times gray, white, light gray. Just a really pretty bridge!

My wife ad I walked this bridge and it was fun and great exercise. The views of Patriots Point were terrific as you could see the large destroyer and the submarine parked in the bay. The activity on the water was also fun the watch as boats motored about and tugs performed work towing large loads. There were plenty of rest spots on the platforms and wide enough walkways for large crowds. This bridge construction and planning to be an attraction to walk was terrific idea.

Drove across bridge a couple times. This is a very popular place for walkers and joggers. Found the best way to see this bridge is in a car with the air cranking on high. Cool bridge to see.

Great modern bridge. Couldn't wait to cross it. Did it twice to get to Mount Pleasant, first to see Patriot's Point and second to get to Boone Hall Plantation...both highly recommended.

Best part of crossing the bridge is that it is free to cross. If this bridge was in NY, it would cost $10 to cross.

Witnessed people walking and running across the span as well.

Iconic Bridge is visible from all over the Charleston area.

Charleston is a wonderful sea side city and comprises of a peninsular and many islands connected by bridges. City is historic and famous for the film "Gone with the Wind". The Arthur Ravenel Bridge connects the down town area to Mount Pleasant.

Stayed in a hotel just left of the base. It was amazing to look out your window at night and seeing it glow in the distance. Fun to walk, but remember it is long and going one way means you have to return. I left my wife in one of the seats at the far end ran back and drove to pick her up. Took a harbor cruise and the view of the bridge was amazing.

We visited the bridge by water from harbor tours, drove over it to get to Boone Plantation, and heard a ghost story near the pineapple fountain about it from our walking ghost tour guide. It’s an icon for Charleston. A mighty structure.

Wonderful and efficient design of a bridge. Not just a highway connecting Charleston to Mt. Pleasant but also a fitness/recreational trail. Allowing pedestrians, joggers and bicyclists their own lanes of travel, to enjoy a safe way to exercise or take a leisurely stroll. Separated from the multiple lanes of traffic by cement barriers bicyclists and pedestrians each have designated lanes to avoid collisions. FYI...one way is 2 1/2 miles! Well worth a hike to see the stunning panoramic view of the area.
