We hiked to the top of the bridge (all in our sixties) with a little effort. We were rewarded by a great view. We were just lucky to see 20 C-17's (I think) fly right over bridge while at the top. You felt you could almost touch them. What a great Memorial Day treat!

Beautiful bridge! It's worth making the trip to Mt Pleasant just to drive over it! Also has walkways so you can walk across!

On our way into Charleston we crossed this beautiful bridge crossing from Mt Pleasant into the city. A lovely and scenic crossing overlooking the harbor.

For years visitors to Charleston were forced to cross the two-lane Grace Bridge and the sometimes three-lane Silas Pearman Bridge (a/k/a the "New Cooper River Bridge"). Neither were very hospitable to traffic (much less people) and a slight fender-bender sent shudders through the area as the backups went for miles. Not longer is that the case. Traffic generally moves smoothly... More

This bridge is just breathtakingly beautiful. Drive across it to get to Isle of Palms, Sullivan's Island, and/or Fort Moultrie.

Amazing! I am fascinated with the history, the design, and the ability to withstand hurricanes and maritime damage. Incredible!

Rode over the bridge a few times. Good views for the bridge from the pier where you get the ferry to Fort Sumter.

Rode bikes from Fort Sumpter to Fort Moultrie across the bridge. Stopped at the crest for a moment to take it all in. Amazing structure!

It's not enough that this bridge is really interesting to look at, it's also fun to cross. Car, bike, and/or walk across the bridge. Beautiful architecture combined with incredible engineering. The bridge spans the Cooper River and connects Charleston to Mt. Pleasant. Free to cross, it's really busy at all times of the day. If you're on foot or a... More
