Touristy? maybe but fun

We had a delightful guide who was also willing to give us a referral for a barbeque place that wasn't a tourist trap and was fantastic. It was a relaxing and informative ride.

Our guide was Eric. The tour lasted one hour and there wasn't a dull moment. Most tours are the same - it all depends on the guide. We loved Eric and his horse Ellwood. These guys bust their humps - give them a tip. I was surprised how cheap all the mid-westerners were on our tour!!

The Big Red Barn Charleston,S.C. Emily was very knowledgeable and careful with the horse drawing the carriage. She obviously cared deeply about disseminating the history of Charleston, as well as the passenger's well being and her horse. Abba Poolah the Belgian draft horse was sooo smart following her directives and going where asked, when. Thank you Emily!

We had an amazing tour guide (Todd). He knew a lot about the area and its history. He explained things and let us ask questions. If you can get him as a tour guide I would recommend it! Our horse (Carson) was great also!

First time in Charleston and wanted to experience a Carriage ride, but had our 60 LB dog, however he was allowed and no fee was charged for him!! Great tour of Historic Charleston and lots of history!

We took a tour with classic carriage works and it was awesome. Our guide(Todd) did an excellent job. He knew his history of the area and let us pick how the tour went with the questions we asked. It's worth the money and the hour tour. Plus our horse Carson minded really well.

We were lucky to have the number 1 carriage driver and guide for our tour. The number of carriages are limited on the street at any one time, and there are several routes to spread them out, rather that all going to the same places. Routes are assigned after you are on board, so it is a surprise where you... More

I went up to Charleston, for a few hours, from Savannah (2hr drive). So this 1hr tour fit right in after strolling the City Market. Our tour guide, I think it was Matt, filled the complete hour with info. Our horse, Bill, was absolutely gorgeous and spunky for a 13yr old!!
