Innkeepers/owners met us on arrival. Took us on a guided tour. They were very knowledgeable about Charleston's history and history of the Inn. 3 POTUS of the dined/stayed here. Such a charming place, we can't wait to visit again.

The Governor's House was wonderful. It's location was perfect for walking around Charleston and the staff was excellent. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and we loved our room. We will definitely stay here again if we are in Charleston, and we highly recommend it.

This is a fabulous B&B very close to the old section of Charleston. Good food, excellent rooms, and above all - a wonderful, helpful staff. Gov. House was a major contributor to a very restful and enjoyable vacation.

We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. We arrived very early, 11 am. Meredith told us that we could store our luggage, check out Charleston, and return in an hour to check in. When we returned, Kimberly, the owner, greeted us, checked us in, carried our luggage to our room, and gave us the room tour. Soon after, Kimberly and Ruth gave us a tour of the property. The tour, history, and architecture were amazing. Our room, Barbados, was spacious and comfortable. It also had an exterior entrance. Breakfast was a culinary delight. The afternoon wine and cheese social was quite extensive. We opted for their Romance Package and were quite satisfied with each element of the package, carriage ride coupon, dinner coupon, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne. I destroyed our umbrella on this trip and the inn quickly provided a loaner. We primarily stay at bed and breakfasts when we travel. Our only concern, when booking the inn, was that it would be too large to get the personal feel of a b & b. That concern was quickly erased by the personal service of Kimberly and her staff. The in is located within walking distance of nearly everything Charleston has to offer. Kimberly provided a map, directions, and advice for everything we intended to visit. The price to stay here seemed high at first. However, after doing some research, it was in line with the Charleston area. After staying, we realized that it is a bargain for this gem. For us, a perfect getaway is found in the personal touches. Kimberly and her entire staff have mastered the personal touches.

We stayed here to celebrate of 35th Wedding Anniversary and it was worth every penny. Our room was very nice and clean. We stayed in the St. Michaels Room. Everyone who served us the 4 days we were there VERY nice. Breakfast was delicious and we had a snack, iced tea and wine late afternoon. The house is beautiful and full of history. A BIG plus in free on site parking. The location is great for walking to so many places.
