This is a small museum inside a post office and it has a long and varied history, among it the civil war period, or the war between the dtates as my friend would call it. A must see.

Small exhibit in a real post office. Of interest were the confederate letters and postage. Less than 1/2 hour to view all.

Tucked beside the post office at the Four Corners of Law (Broad & Meeting St) is a one room museum.....totally free.....with loads of exhibits explaining the early history of our postal system. Easily worth a half hour to take a trip back in time.

I thoroughly enjoyed walking through this small museum! They have lots of information about the first mail couriers (what they rode and wore in terms of satchels, uniforms, etc.) and have old letters, stamps, and local information about the couriers of Charleston. The vintage typewriter...More

There is quite a bit to see in this little museum within the existing Charleston Post Office. There were canceling machines, post office boxes, clothing and other items used in the post offices of yesterday.
