We had already walked around quite a bit but walking with Jim, our Low Country Tour guide, was incomparably better. Great choices on the back streets tour and many interesting stories. The great reviews are well merited.

There were 4 of us and we all thoroughly enjoyed Jim's tour. He was engaging and full of great historical information. We had to duck out a little early to get our visitors to the airport, so we will do this tour again!

This was a great way to learn more about Charleston and its history! Very informative and we saw things we would not have seen on our own.

A great tour by Evans Byrd. His knowledge of historical Charleston and horticulture was amazing. I highly recommend the tour to anyone visiting Charleston.

My husband and I did Charleston’s Most Beautiful Walk with Bill and we couldn’t have been more happy with the walk. Bill is friendly, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We covered the majority of the places we wanted to see in Charleston on the walk. I would...More

I am not much of a 'tour person,' in general, but I enjoyed this tour. Jim is a great guide who loves the area and knows interesting stories about Charleston and historical figures. If you want to go 'off the beaten path' a bit, you...More

I'd been to Charleston before and ebonly had one afternoon, so this sounded different. We went on some small streets and alleys, saw different kinds of house and learned how they were used. We got to peek into some backyards too.

My friend and I had a wonderful time listening to Evans talk about Charleston’s history (and characters) DESPITE the pouring rain, which says a lot! I have been to the city many times and taken a few other tours, but I learned so much more...More

Thank you for your question! All of our tours are conducted outside and while we are frequently stopping to hear the stories, we do not usually have any opportunities to actually sit down. Hope that helps!

I don't think it would be too strenuous for seniors, but I'm not sure an 8-year old would be all that enthralled (unless he/she was into southern history). If that young person is a boy, consider visiting the retired US Navy... More

We are heading down to Charleston for a few days in late October and want to take at least 2 walking tours, one covering the basics / general overview / history etc and then perhaps a 2nd with a different spin (no ghost tours since we will be with our 1 year old daughter) I was thinking the Charleston Footprints Walking Tour for the general overview and for the 2nd one either the Oyster Point Civil War & Secession Tour or the Lowcountry Walking Tours 'Most Beautiful Walk' tour Does...More

Hi hpnas! I would definitely suggest taking at least one of your walking tours with Oyster Point! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour through Oyster Point given by Bill. We did not do the Civil War & Succession tour but after taking the general Charleston tour, we wished we had also booked the Civil War tour as well. (Unfortunately, the Civil War tour was booked completely the week that we were there.) Bill is very knowledgeable and thorough in his presentation with a slice of...More
