Based on the recommendation of a friend, we contacted Martine Dulles for a historic (2 hour) tour of downtown Charleston. She gave us a superb tour, packed with history, current and past society and geography. Our family's group consisted of me, my husband and 3 young adult offspring. Everyone remained engaged and complemented her style, fund of knowledge and presentation.... More

Martine walked with my husband and myself for nearly 2 1/2 hours, teaching, sharing and showing us the gorgeous architecture in Charleston. She has a wealth of knowledge, and an exuberant way of telling history along with details you can't find in a book.( like the details on an iron gate outside a building ) She loves her city, and... A wonderful trip back in time strolling through the streets of Charleston, Martine is a very knowledgeable and she provides a very personal touch to her tours rather than a scripted tour. We have visited Charleston several times before but Martine provided so many tips and recommendations on places to visit as well as local restaurants. She was a pleasure... More

It's hard to imagine a more enjoyable and intellectually gifted tour guide than Martine P. Dulles. It's not for nothing that a well-informed curator at the Historic Charleston Foundation recommends her above all others in a town with zillions of guides. Funny, insightful, and at times deliciously ironic, Martine is well steeped in local history and lore. Her husband's family... More

Wow, this tour is the best way to see and learn about Charleston! My wife and i spent 2 hours plus with Martine and, as opposed to other tours, where you are in groups and they only talk at each stop, imagime being with a friend who knows the city inside and out and just walking and talking the entire... Martine was entertaining and so knowledgable! We spent our Sunday strolling through the center of Charleston enjoying the beauty and learning so much about the city. She gave us an understanding of the city and its beginnings, as well as tips for local food, etc. So glad we arranged to do this!

From the artist on the street corner to the family driving by on the way to church this is the accolade we heard. We concur! Martine's knowledge and demeanor made for an enjoyable Sunday morning. She also gave us valuable tips on the local scene. This is a fabulous way to start a Charleston weekend don't consider anyone else. Best... More

Martine is extremely knowledgeable about Charleston's history and she keeps her clients very engaged in the sights along the tour. Martine's family has deep Charleston roots, but her personal background is cosmopolitan. That combination is ideal for introducing this historic and once-insular town to outsiders. Martine explains the complexities of Charleston with authority, wit, and charm. You will find her energy truly infectious!

My girlfriends and I had only a few hours in Charleston before a get-away weekend on Kiawah Island. We wanted to make the most of our time so I booked a walking tour with Martine based on the positive reviews. It was perfect! Martine is warm, charming and packed full of Charleston history as well as fun tid-bits of current... More
