I highly recommend booking this if you are visiting Charleston and love nature. The guides are knowledgable and extremely friendly. Lots of wildlife to be seen- the gator sighting was just an added bonus. We weren't able to go into the swamp due to low water, so we will definitely be back and book with this group again!

My husband and I have kayaked many times on different rivers this was our first black water swamp experience and it was fantastic. So peaceful and relaxing. We were with another couple who enjoyed the calming atmosphere of nature which was great not to have a lot of chatty people. Our guide Dan was knowledgeable and was good about maneuvering us through the Cypress tree knees, letting us take the lead at different times. This was a great experience! Highly recommend.

Eight of my friends and I went to Charleston for my 50th. We did all sorts of walking tours and fun things but this was by far everyone’s favorite activity. It was gorgeous and otherworldly and so calming. Dallas was darling and peppy and such a wonderful guide. I had a couple of friends who were super nervous about kayaking but this could not have been more mellow and chill. The water is quite shallow so there’s pretty much no risk of drowning. All the other kayak companies do marsh and coastal kayaking but I can’t recommend this black water swamp tour enough.

My wife and I, neither have ever kayaked before, just returned from a trip that included the Blackwater kayak tour. It was awesome. Our guide, Dallas, was so pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. She obviously throughly enjoys what she does and has some interesting views on various subjects relating to the tour. You are not rushed along, so the pace is great for getting to see the different animal life. No bugs, that came as quite the surprise, really, no bugs. The water did not smell and was very clean. We are in our mid sixties and had no problems. Would definitely do it again given the opportunity.
