We had hoped to stay in campground but it was full. Went to the Festival of Lights and really enjoyed 2,000,000 lights along the 3-mile drive. Parked and walked around as well. Great for kids or kids at ❤️

Unfortunatly the staff didn't belay me and said they would only belay members even though the Website says "you don't need a Climbing partner, the staff will belay you". "use the autobelay"...thats what they say. Unfortunately, there was no autobelay for lead climbers. Other than...More

James Island County Park is a wonderful place to stay to vist Charleston. We went there in November, which is when they have the amazing Christmas light display. Nothing like we've ever see before. The park is nice and clean, showers included.

Depends upon what you mean by hiking....there is a 2 mile paved path around the perimeter of the park that takes you by some gorgeous scenery, but it's pretty tame for serious hikers...great for a dog walk.
