Theatre 99 is Charleston's Home for Improv Comedy. It is not a comedy club as Trip Advisor has listed it as. It is a 130 seat theatre, not a club with tables. We specialize in improvisational comedy which is unscripted theatre. It makes for a very funny night. We just don't want users of Trip Advisor to come expecting stand up comics telling jokes on a microphone. Theatre 99 does host stand up comedy shows periodically, but our main focus is improve comedy on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m. Thank you for supporting live performance!

Great time, especially if you're a fan of improv. Great for a night out if you're a local or a visitor. I look forward to going back soon!

The show was very funny. The comedians were creative, and the show went by quickly. The tickets were reasonably priced for the show; you definitely get your money's worth. We would go a couple of times a month, at least, if we lived here.

My only complaint is it ended too soon! I'm not sure I ever stopped laughing! So much fun and no pressure to buy anything. You can't beat the price for a memorable night out.

This was my 3rd time coming here. This time was with my boyfriend and our 2 friends. The seating is cozy, there is plenty of opportunity to be able to sit front and center, the ticket people are nice, it's casual, and I don't stop...More

If you like "Who's line is it anyway", you will like this. The talent is amazing. They do sell drinks there which is nice. It's worth the visit.

What an unexpected treat! This was recommended to us last minute and boy, are we glad we went! This group was hysterical! We went on a Wednesday for $5 admission...what a deal!! You can't find an enjoyable, entertaining, worthwhile activity for that anymore these days!...More

Great price and great improv comedy! Best way to cap off a long day exploring downtown... I wouldnt recommend with young children, but for adults it was great!

This is something that everyone should try! Go on Wednesday's and it's only $5/person. There is no parking at the location so you have to plan ahead to find parking. Tickets can be bought online, but if you buy at the door, no plastic accepted...More

A few good jokes. Overall a little boring. I'd not go back. Inexpensive way to kill some time in the city.

Sorry I missed your question for 5 days. Rose, you might want to ask the Theatre 99 Venue or the management at your Seaside Inn. Uber could be an option.

Hi there - 17 year olds are welcome. We have teenagers at our shows regularly, but we do like to leave it up to the parents as to whether or not it appropriate for their kids. Because our shows are unscripted, we never know... More
