The Rainbow Row is a string of buildings that are brightly painted. A few of them have historical placards to show their significance. The entire row takes about five minutes to see, and because parking is so bad, I don't recommend it unless you're in...More

A nice walk by while you're out. A great, fairly safe walking area. The whole city is very walkable. At Christmas time, this city has to be even more beautiful ( and a little less hot and humid! ).

Rainbow Row and Tradd Street are the two quintessential Charleston streets. Make sure you walk them and look through the gates into the gardens. Take a hat in the summer time.

Charleston is so walkable it would be a shame to miss this pretty section of the city! And since the food is so good, you will want to be walking around plenty—so plan the walk and don’t miss Rainbow Row.

We heard so much about how we had to go to Rainbow Row. I'm not sure what's so great about it. It was cool to see the bright colored homes but that's all it is. Not my preferred activity but for someone who likes these...More

If you are in the area, be sure to check this out as it looks very nice and is a good photo opportunity, but if not, you aren't missing much. It's just a row of houses painted different colors.

Every visit to Charleston must include Rainbow Row. Some tours state the first shopping center of the US because ships would dock and bring wares, fish, produce etc. to sell there. Built in the 1800s but became Rainbow Row in the 1900s when Dorothy Legge...More

I visited Rainbow Row and thought it was very picturesque. It’s a nice area to walk through while visiting Charleston. There were several other streets in the area that were very pretty as well.

Yes, Most of the historic hotels are. I would just check in google maps for the exact distance and plan accordingly given the hot summer with temp. And yes, keep water bottles handy!!

It's all pedestrian-friendly since it's an open neighborhood street. You can walk along the sidewalk and I'm sure you can bring your pup!
