Asheville 5 day tour was the 4 th tour with Alex and Karen ; the fine tour guides. At this point we consider them to be great friends in addition to conducting great bike tours. We enjoy the 20-30 mile rides , the great accommodations many of which are very historic, the fine restaurants, and the knowledge and friendliness of the tour guides . The other individuals (mostly couples) have always been pleasant and enjoyable, and we have formed friendships also. I am 65 years old and fairly good physical condition and find all the daily rides to be excellent exercise experiences. We anticipate doing any additional tours in the future.

Lowcountry charm didn't hold much meaning to me until I biked with Karen and Alex on their tour through Edisto. Being from Chicago, this felt like a trip back in time, the moss covered trees, well paved roads with little traffic and food that was amazing. Generosity is at the heart of this business and you'll be glad you booked with them.

Great 6 day trip through the Low Country of Charleston, Beaufort and Savannah. The rides were beautiful and very scenic. The food and accommodations were spectacular. But what makes this tour “the best of the best” were the hosts Karen and Alex. Both are so knowledgeable about the history and very kind. This is an adventure that you don’t want to miss- you won’t be disappointed!!!

5 days of biking on 4 different Georgia coastal islands. Easy biking, beautiful scenery, delicious Southern food, small groups, incredible tour guides (Alex and Karen, owners of Charleston Bicycle Tours). Plenty of time to relax after biking. Would highly recommend this trip for a terrific vacation!

Very knowledgeable guides with a well organized trip. Nice balance of bicycling to see the local sights and great restaurants to keep any serious foodie happy. If you truly want to experience the Southeast these are the trips to take. We are planning our next tour with Alex & Karen.

We were on a 3 day trip with Charleston Bicycle Tours on October 3, 2011. Our experience as first time visitors to the area could not have been better. Alex and Karen were great hosts and guides both in Charleston and in the surrounding islands and coastal area near Charleston. Great food, great feeling among our group and all details were taken care of for us.

Five days of bicycling, eating and imbibing in and around Charleston S.C. with Charleston Bicycle Tours was one of or best vacations ever. A particular and unique bonus was being guided by tour owner and director Alex Graham, a fifth generation South Carolinian and graduate of Charleston's official tour guide program. Not only did he know the answers to all of our questions, he also told us many things we wanted to know but did not know we wanted to know until he told us. As an extra added bonus, Alex is a former restauranteur and gourmet cook, who provided us with two of the best picnic lunches ever.

This is a highly recommended tour for anyone who enjoys an active, adventurous, memorable vacation. Alex and Karen paid great attention to the very fine details of the journey. They carefully planned the entire trip, tailored it specifically to meet our expectations, and made it a fantastic, delightful family-friendly vacation. We traveled with our three teen-age daughters during spring break, along with a very lovely family with two adorable sons. The trip was planned so well, that all the teen-angers and adults as one had a great time. We enjoyed a breathtaking walking tour along the Charleston Battery listening to Alex tell the fascinating tales of historic, beautiful, colorful Charleston. We traveled by boat to the seemingly deserted Morris Island, where the beautiful beach was pure, flawless, and untouched. There Alex cooked for us the “Frogmore Stew” – a palatable tasty low country boil prepared and served up the way locals do it, at the time of sunset to the delight of us all. We rode our bikes the next day over the Charleston bridge (!) to Mount Pleasant, Sullivan’s Island and Ft. Moultrie. The bike ride was designed for all of us – with options to prolong, shorten, or to take breaks as needed. Karen followed us everywhere, with her special mother-like touch, providing us with healthy delicious treats and cool water along the road. We kayaked at Shem Creek to Crab Bank, a bird sanctuary for Brown Pelicans. We were escorted by an extremely knowledgeable guide, hand-picked by Alex, who educated us about wild life in the creeks and marshes. We rode our bikes on the beautiful Wadmalaw Island past scenery old farms, plantations, and the Village of Rockville. The girls enjoyed the visit at the Charleston Tea Plantation, home of the only tea grown in America. We all enjoyed there an outside picnic carefully prepared by Alex and Karen, including a delicious blueberry secret recipe pie, made by Alex. All meals were carefully planned, with superb food served at fine restaurants. The ambiance and atmosphere was perfect. All of us had a great time. Thank you Alex, Karen, and Jimmy, for the joyful memories!

We had a wonderful time with Alex and Karen Graham and thoroughly enjoyed Charleston. From the moment we stepped off the plane, they took great care to ensure every detail was taken care of so we would have a great time. Alex gave us personal attention and tailored the tour to meet our needs; providing a wonderful balance of biking, a tour of Charleston and an education about it's history and culture. Alex's knowledge of Charleston's history is amazing and we enjoyed all of his amusing stories. The food and accommodations were first class. Our favorite was the gourmet lunch Alex and Karen personally prepared which we enjoyed while picnicking at the Charleston Tea Plantation. We were treated like family and plan to make a return trip in the future with our sons. We highly recommend Charleston Bicycle Tours. Thank you Alex and Karen for a fabulous trip. Larry & Julie
