Old Charleston Walking Tours is proud to offer an array of narrated walks that cover the most interesting historical issues and sights in a city known for its turbulent past and unusual beauty. Our guides are the best in the business, with years of research and storytelling experience. They promise the kind of accuracy, insight and enthusiasm that create a delightful touring experience. Let them lead you to Charleston's hidden alleys and tell you what went on behind its closed doors. The daytime walks last approximately two hours. The ghost walks are shorter (and scarier). We go rain or shine. There are no hills. The pace is easy. Please join us. You'll be glad you did!

We learned that during the off season, Charleston is pretty sleepy by around 8:30, so we scheduled a ghost tour with Old Charleston Tours to have something fun to do after hours. We chose the 9:30, and luckily, it was still quite warm and very pleasant. Mike is a GREAT story teller, and makes every story sound like historical fact,... More

The guide takes you back in time with an eerie walk through historical Charleston! It had all the ingredients for a great evening..humor, fright, and a little learning of history..I would recommend it to everyone.♡

We went on ghost tour called Pleasing Terrors with a tour guide named Mike Brown. He is a native to Charleston and has been giving tours for 20 years. He gives a mix of history and ghost stories and shares about his research and experiences with the supernatural. His tour was excellent. He also has a podcast out with other... More

We, 6 adults, enjoyed our 2.5 hour private tour of mainly the French Quarter of Charleston with Dennis Stiles. He was accurately informed about the writers, poets , musicians and artists and their local history as well as the Revolutionary and Civil War events that happened here. I highly recommend him.

Mike is awesome! So captivating and really tells the story. He has clearly done his research so whether or not you believe in ghosts, haunted houses, etc. he explains the stories that have been shared and then gives a logical explanation of why these people may have encountered what they did. 100% recommended!

Other people in my group were very enthused to do the Ghost Tour (generally not my thing). I have to say the tour was very interesting and included quite a bit of unique Charleston history. It was fun walking around Charleston at night and seeing some of the spookier places. I could not give this an excellent because there were... More

Denny took time to get to know us so he could tailor the tour to fit our interests. We were impressed by his knowledge of local, state and national history that he presented in a charming way. It was our first day in Charleston, and we felt like this tour gave us a good grounding in the city and the... More

Just 5 days ago, while Hurricane Matthew was still in the Caribbean and only a possibility for the Carolina coast, my husband, daughter and I were privileged to share a carefree few hours with Denny Stiles of Old Charleston Walking Tours. Our trip was in celebration of our daughter's 25th birthday...she holds a Master's in Architecture with a Certificate in... More

This was such a fun tour! Walking around Charleston at night visiting the historic sites and listening odd and spooky stories was such fun. The guide is excellent and has such a great delivery with the stories he tells. He has researched the stories and gives a great explanation of the history behind them.
