Fin was an incredibly engaging tour guide! The historical tour he provided through charming Charleston, was clear, well edited and so interesting. He made history come to life weaving our visual tour with interesting stories and facts. My husband, son and I loved our experience traveling back in time with Charleston Sole Walking Tours and would recommend them highly to anyone visiting this city.

Brian was so great! We were here for a bachelorette party (mine!) and did a walking tour to learn about the city. He was a wealth of info, humor & had a really interesting way of making everything come to life. In a group of 13 girls, he kept us all entertained, answered all of our questions & tied in so much history that related to each of our home towns. He was patient, took great pictures of our group & I recommend him highly!

Brian Simms gave us a private family tour on fairly short notice. We had a great experience! We got to see parts of Charleston that we wouldn't have if left to our own devices. Brian was supremely knowledgable and became a fast friend. He expertly tied together the history of the country, Charleston, and the sights we visited. He has young kids and made sure to relate to and involve our kids in his talk. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Brian and recommend him for either the group or private tours.

Sole Walking Tours is an excellent way to get acquainted with Charleston. Brian is a superb guide whose hometown knowledge is worth experiencing. He provides an understanding of the city's unique history that goes beyond your basic cookie cutter tours. Knows how to calibrate his information for history buffs and otherwise via enthusiasm and humor.

Fin Smith provided knowledge of the city’s history and architecture at a level beyond any other tour guide we have encountered in our many travels. We appreciated his enthusiasm, love of the history of the south, and the way he brought history to life. We came away with several book recommendations for follow-up.

Signed up for the 2 Hr. Walking tour in Charleston SC. Available tours allowed us to schedule a time so that it was the introduction to the historic district on the first day in Charleston. Our tour guide Fin was a retired history teacher and provided us a wonderful, educational and enlightening walk thru this beautiful city. Definitely helped us gain an appreciation of the history not just about the town itself, but also in the context of American history overall.

Our guide was terrific - I loved the way he gave us context and framing for the history he presented during the tour. It was a chilly day for Charleston, and he made sure we were entertained and staying warm enough. We had a great time and felt like we understood the city a bit more afterwards.

Fin Smith conducted a great tour. It was complete, well organized, and gave a good sense of Charleston’s history. His love of his city and his enthusiasm was infectious. It gave us, as Canadian tourists, insight into the city and served to point us in other directions in which to explore. Thank you for this.

We booked this tour the day before so as to see as much of the old city as possible in an afternoon. Finn was a superb and entertaining guide, knowledgeable and personable. The tour route hit all the historic highlights with suggestions for further exploration on our own. The tour was well worth the money.

What an awesome walking tour. Brian was full of information and even tied the Charleston history back to the history of each of the states that me and my girlfriends are from. There was no question he couldn’t answer. He kept us interested and wanting more the whole tour. He didn’t get bothered by our frequent stops to take group pictures to capture our memories. Highly recommend.
