Great day of fishing! Captain John knows where to look for the fish based on his years of experience. We've been out twice with him and have caught small and large fish, sharks, and even saw a few sea turtles. Definitely looking to go again in the summer of 2021.

Fished with Cpt John Irwin twice this Fall. He and his Hells Bay flats boat put me and a buddy ( 1sr trip) and me and a son (today) on lots of fish. First Nov trip resulted in plenty of trout and several nice reds. Today was 6/7 trout and maybe 20 reds . John is knowledgeable about the tackle and where the fish are, helpful when you miss one you should have hooked and provides top flite equipment and lively bait . First met John many years ago at The Charleston Angler when I took a fly-fishing class from him and then reconnected this year when I wanted some steady fall fishing in the creeks of The Lowcountry.

This was one of our favorite charters. We fish all over North and Central America and this was a favorite trip. Capt John is knowledgeable, laid back and very accommodating. Doubled up on redfish more times than we could count and caught 60 plus fish! Thanks Capt John for the great day!

Captain John guided my girlfriend and I while we were in Charleston, SC over 4th of July weekend. We had a great time! His Hells Bay professional is a very elite flats boat and perfect for navigating the shallows in the Charleston area. He took us to multiple productive fishing spots where we were able to get on some quality redfish mixed in with trout and flounder. Most importantly, John has a charismatic personality, and is a master at his craft. I highly recommend John for anyone looking to do some serious fishing!

Captain John, was a great guide and host. The fishing trip was a gift from my wife. She joined me on the trip. She hadn’t been fishing since she was a little girl. Of course she brought in the first catch! We caught trout, big Reds and we both caught sizable sharks. Captain John was committed to ensuring we caught fish. He knew where to fish and how to read the waters. Great trip! We will be fishing with the Captain again!
