We had the best evening with Vannah. She is so sweet, personal, and educating. She was able to paint us the picture during the tour but also answer additional questions we had. She’s extremely knowledgeable of the history of Charleston and you can tell she has a passion for it as well!

Jo was a fabulous tour guide who was incredibly knowledgeable about ghosts and the history of charleston. She was also hilarious and added her own spice to the tour that made our group enjoy it 10 times more. Jo rocks!

We love historical tours and particularly ghost tours. When in this notoriously old, haunted city, we decided to look for a good one and found the Haunted Booze and Boos Tour. We snapped up two tickets and ended up having an amazing time with our guide, Jo. She was fun, high energy, and full of great stories. We stopped at some very cool old bars and also at stops between them for interesting tales of ghost sightings, pirates and more, complete with photos. It was definitely an entertaining couple of hours. Highly recommend!

This was the best ghost tour I’ve ever been on!! Our tour guide was Vannah and she was so knowledgeable about the history of Charleston and told us great ghost stories! We stopped at 3 different bars along the way and had the best time! Next time we come to Charleston we will do this again!

Jo was fantastic. We were here for my bachelorette and she was amazing. Every story and every stop was better than the next. I’m so happy we were able to have our tour with Jo. She truly made the experience with her personality and story telling. You won’t go wrong with Jo!

Jo (pirate booty momma!) was the most amazing tour guide I’ve ever had, and I’ve been on quite a few! She was energetic, personal, and extremely passionate. Her stories were detailed and she was excellent at answering questions on the spot. 10/10 recommend! Thanks for a wonderful boos and booze night!

I would not recommend the Nightly Spirits Pub Crawl.

I attended with a large group and we rushed to get to the starting bar where we were essentially told to “drink for the next 30 minutes.” That was the best and most haunted of the three bars, and the only one we actually got a real ghost story about. The other two bars were underwhelming (an Irish pub where we sat in an isolated side room and another random dive bar). We got a couple of anecdotes about people having paranormal experiences there, and that was it. There was also a significant walking portion between bars two and three where we heard a few ghost stories, but not delivered in a spooky way. It was mostly a quick telling of a story, plus being told to try to capture paranormal activities on your camera. Our guide spent way too much time telling raunchy pirate jokes and giving details about their own personal life, and not enough time actually telling ghost or pirate stories.

I will also say that you are definitely pressured into leaving a 5 start review, probably explaining all of the glowing reviews. We were told to essentially not leave a critical review and that our guide would receive an incentive for every 5 star “and only 5 star, not 4 star, just 5 star” review on Google or TripAdvisor. We were also told multiple times that another guide that night was bought 6 shots by their tour group, and it definitely made us feel like we were being asked to buy our guide shots. It was just an awkward and unprofessional way to end an already not good tour.

I have done several ghost tours (some with a bar hopping aspect, too) in multiple cities and this was by far the worst one I have been on.

We loved this tour. My husband, our 22 year old son and I took this tour on our first night in Charleston with Gia. We had a wonderful time. While the pub aspect is obviously a plus 😉, the tour itself was so interesting and informative. We love ghost tours of new cities as it's a fun way to learn about the history and sights in a more interesting way than a normal walking tour. Gia did not disappoint. She is a natural storyteller and the evening just flew by.

We even had our share of spooky experiences (for real - not making that part up). My son had a strange sensation of tingling and pain in his arm as we walked down Philadelphia Alley (aka Dueller's alley) that ended about five minutes after we left. We walked down that alley the next day during a food tour and the exact same thing happened (no it wasn't a heart attack 😂). Was it his imagination? Was something reaching out to him? Who knows? He's not exactly one to call attention to himself or get spooked easily, so I do wonder ....

I am going to include four pictures that I took. Two were of the same spot in a graveyard. On one you can see the light in the background is vastly extended from the "normal" shot. At first look I just thought the picture was terribly out of focus, but looking at the headstones in the foreground, you can see that's not the case. What was it? No clue, but it sure was spooky!

Included in the second pair of photos is the one that still makes my skin crawl when I look at it. We were at the last pub, enjoying a drink on the back patio. Gia hadn't mentioned anything about any of the buildings in front of us (behind the pub) being haunted. But for some reason sitting there, I was drawn to one of the buildings - and not in a good way. My skin was tingling and I felt compelled to take a picture of what was not a photogenic site, at all. What I got was the blurred picture you see. I know I didn't move the phone enough to blur that. I took several other pictures of the area (one is shown) and you see what should have been on that first picture. Quite a bit later, as we were got up to leave, my son suddenly ran over to the wall and started peering around the corner. Earlier in the night, he had expressed to me that he got the creepiest feeling when we passed a certain building (one not mentioned by Gia in the tour - just a random building we walked by). What we didn't realize until that moment was that I had photographed the back of that building without even realizing it was the same one. We'd been winding through the French Quarter for several hours and he only just realized it was the same one.

Some of you will read this and chalk it up to a few cocktails and over imaginative minds and maybe it is. Or maybe it isn't?????????

Either way, you will love this tour. Ask for Gia!!
