Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative...

Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative walking tours with 7th-generation Charleston native Michael Trouche. Discover stunning architecture, glorious gardens, Civil and Revolutionary War sites, cobblestone streets, wrought iron gates, legendary graveyards, and the local flavor of the fabled “Holy City” that no one knows better than Michael, who grew up in the famous "South of Broad" area, and has written two popular books on Charleston, where his family has lived for more than 215 years. Michael won numerous prestigious awards as host of the acclaimed "Carolina Camera" television program for 20 years on the local Charleston CBS affiliate, and has charmed tour guests for 10 years with his unparalleled knowledge of South Carolina's history, culture, plants and animals, as well as colorful insights, locations and anecdotes that only a lifelong Charleston native would truly know.

A two-hour tour that starts on-time and gives a good overview of historic Charleston. Michael speaks clearly and loudly which means everyone can hear everything he says. The fact that he grew up in this neighborhood adds a perspective that one surely can't get anywhere else. He gives a great tour.

As first time visitors to Charleston, my bf and I thought it was a great idea to walk around and get some first hand knowledge about this historical place from one of the locals. We booked our walking tour tickets ahead of time and Michael got back to us right away via email with details about the tour. Once we... More

Upon meeting Michael, I was a little worried after seeing that he had recent surgery on his leg. However, he still walked WAY faster than us even with this injury and it did not effect the tour at all. The 2 hours was a perfect amount of time to hear all about Charleston and we felt like we knew how... More

Honestly, this was a perfect 2 hour walking tour of Charleston.Michael has a wonderful voice that reaches everyone in the group. He gave great details of historic events, people, architecture, and even botany. It was paced perfectly - not too fast - not too slow - just right! Highly recommend!

The Footprints tour is a 2 hour walking tour around historic Charleston. We have taken this tour twice and it was excellent both times. Michael Trouche grew up in Charleston and is a fabulous tour guide with a wealth of knowledge. Plus he is a wonderful storyteller. We thoroughly enjoyed both tours (2016 and 2014), will hope to attend future... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our informative tour with Michael. It was interesting and diverse....including a visit to a couple of beautiful, historic churches;the Battery; and a theater. We all felt a greater appreciation and understanding of this beautiful city. Also appreciate that we could hear Michael's voice above the normal city noise.

Michael, the tour guide, is full of energy and love for the Holy City. Even though he had just returned from knee surgery, he kept up a brisk pace. This tour visits churches, parks and other places of historical significance to Charleston. The tour is 2 hours long and there are short breaks at some of the churches. So, bring... More
