Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative...

Enchanting historic Charleston comes alive on entertaining and informative walking tours with 7th-generation Charleston native Michael Trouche. Discover stunning architecture, glorious gardens, Civil and Revolutionary War sites, cobblestone streets, wrought iron gates, legendary graveyards, and the local flavor of the fabled “Holy City” that no one knows better than Michael, who grew up in the famous "South of Broad" area, and has written two popular books on Charleston, where his family has lived for more than 215 years. Michael won numerous prestigious awards as host of the acclaimed "Carolina Camera" television program for 20 years on the local Charleston CBS affiliate, and has charmed tour guests for 10 years with his unparalleled knowledge of South Carolina's history, culture, plants and animals, as well as colorful insights, locations and anecdotes that only a lifelong Charleston native would truly know.

Michael found a way to deliver historical and cultural information that was interesting and humorous to the point that my children still remember some of the facts that Michael shared, that is impressive!!! The love and passion that Michael feels for is city is so evident that one can't help but share in it. His Charleston accent is like molasses... More

We booked ahead based on feedback on tripadvisor. We found Michael to be funny, knowledgable and proud of his city. Despite a recent knee injury, he outpaced our group and kept us hopping. He had additional complimentary water about halfway through the tour which gave the group a second wind. I would absolutely recommend a tour from Michael

We booked our tour with Michael, he was amazing and full of so much knowledge of Charleston since he grew up there. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn everything they can about Charleston and even alittle more. Wonderful way to spend the morning, even in the rain :)

We drove in from Hilton Head for this tour and was running late due to the parking garage being full. We texted Michael and he kindly waited for us to arrive before beginning the tour. He was humorous and very knowledgable, going slow enough so that we could keep up while carrying our infant daughter. He has extensive knowledge of... More

Do not even think about paying anyone other than Michael Trouche to guide you around the beautiful and interesting historic city of Charleston! We reserved space for four in a group tour, about two weeks in advance. Good thing, because the tour was full and Michael was turning walk-ups away in order to keep the number of people manageable. It... More

Michael was very informative as well as entertaining. The two hours flew by even on a hot and humid day. Michael also has a knack for remembering and using your name. We highly recommend this tour.

Scott has an outstanding about of historic knowledge and kept us enthralled for the entire 90 minutes. It was super hot but we really enjoyed every minute. Lots of fun and there is no way you will walk away without a feeling that you really know Charleston. Highly recommend.

Had a great introduction into Charleston with Michael's tour. He takes the time to learn everyone's name and inserts his personal stories into the tour. Did this on our first day in town and glad we did!
