Explore Charleston's haunted, dark and odd history with a company who has a strong commitment to quality over quantity. Owned and operated by authors/historians/investigators Mark R. Jones and Rebel Sinclair, Black Cat offers tours aimed for the travelers who want to step slightly out-of-the-mainstream and do not want to walk with a herd. Mark is the author of five books about Charleston history, and Rebel is the author of two historical novels about Charleston's romance, tragedy and spirits. Call for reservations.

Rebel was our guide for the 8pm Ghost tour. The tour was ninety minutes, but not nearly long enough for me. She was very informative and friendly. I enjoyed her romanticism of Charleston's ghost stories, to the point of hanging on her every word. Take this tour, you won't be disappointed. Will definitely do again next time we visit.

I've been on several ghost tours in other old historic cities and have even taken the same tour in one city several times because it is so great. My boyfriend and I booked the Wicked Charleston as our first walking tour in this city and were highly disappointed. The tour started with a bit of competitive bashing about another tour... More

I booked this tour with my teenage daughter and friend. Rebel told great interesting facts and stories! The girls and I thoroughly enjoyed this awesome Charleston experience! My daughter was still talking about it and things she didn't know on the way home the next t day! She has been reading about History and researching it now!! Rebel Sinclair, thank... More

My husband and I did the history/ghost tour. Our tour guide was Rebel and she was awesome. She knows her facts and she keeps you interested. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We had high hopes for this tour, as Charleston is an old town with lots of controversy and history, but it was a huge disappointment and soured us on using trip advisor for any more recommendations. If the highest rated ghost tour was the worst one we've ever been on, then how can we trust any other reviews? I understand... More

I had been looking forward to this tour for a long time, and I was not disappointed. The tour guide was knowledgeable of lowcountry ghosts, Gullah magic, and local history, and offered a wealth of information on each. As I'm disabled, I was a little concerned about the length of the walk and exertion required, but this is thankfully a... More

My teenage daughter and I took the Charleston Ghost Tour and had a blast! Great walking tour with historical anecdotes and some scary stories thrown in. Our guide was dressed up in a gothic-style costume and had an old lantern. We took lots of pictures and got some orbs that we can't explain. Saw lots of cool alleyways and cemeteries.... More

I have attended several ghost tours over the years in Savannah and Charleston. They normally prove to be a combination of some historical info, some storytelling and personal experience stories, and some photo opportunities/ views on a tablet; folks occasionally catch a thing or two on their cameras, so even better . I did not naively go on this '... More

Most of our reviews are positive, and for those less so do not respond to if they are personal opinion (people visit a seafood eatery, order a steak, complain its no good). However, customer service issues are always of utmost importance. As there were several notes by this reviewer about the lack of professionalism by the guide, a response seems... More

My tour of "Haunted Charleston" was very uneventful, with little to see. Our guide was excited about what she had to say to us, but frequently it didn't seem to have to do with true hauntings. It was like being led around historic Charleston on a one-person theater performance. The best story of the evening was the guide's own story... More
