Al is fantastic. He definitely knows his Charleston history. It was our first time in Charleston, this was the way to learn about it.

Our walking tour with Al was a real highlight of our trip. It felt like we were being given a personal tour of the city and its history from someone who has lived there for centuries - and only because he and his family have. A great blend of history, stories and lore, and a sense of humor made this... More

My wife and I were treated to a private tour with Al last weekend as we were the only two in the group tour. Al's years of experience in Charleston really came through, explaining the rich history of the buildings, churches and neighborhoods. I would highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I had a fantastic tour with Al. His family has lived in Charleston for generations, and he has an encyclopedic knowledge of its history with a flair for storytelling. Even though he must have given hundreds of tours, he approached ours with genuine enthusiasm. It's clear he loves this job! We walked all over the historic district... More

The Old Walled City of Charleston is full of surprises, history, and intrigue. Al has a tremendous amount of knowledge and is able convey it readily. Sometimes it's easy to get lost in the stories, dates, people and times - ask for clarification and you'll be good to go. The guy knows much and is excited to share it all!... More

We spent a cloudy and cool afternoon with Al touring Charleston, but after being hearing about the history and culture of the area we soon forgot about the weather! Al is very versed in the history and was happy to answer any question or veer off the path to show us something extra. We learned so much about the Walled... More

Our tour guide was Al. He was quite excellent and tremendously informative. I would highly recommend utilizing his services. The tour lasted about 3 hours. It was money well spent and included yours of the old theater and the Heyward-Washington House. This one is a must for 1st time visitors to Charleston.
