EVERYTHING you want to know. This is one of the best visitor centers ever. the employees talk to you like they are your friends not just trying to get through a long line of strangers. they give you their opinions on where to eat and...More
Great building with lots of information available on the area. Clean restrooms available for visitors. Lots of leaflets and maps available. Staff were able to give us a good recommendation for lunch nearby. Details of free shuttles and transport options were also available. Also has...More
This was a beautiful and well stocked visitor's center. There were books there that were unique to Charleston. It was well located to the major attractions in the city. I found a great book that I purchased.
We were pleased with the information and the pamphlets we were able to pick up. One great benefit is that the visitor's center is located on the route of the free transportation provided by the City of Charleston. That is a big bonus!
Clean, large, well staffed, easy to find. Film to introduce city was well worth it. You can also buy tickets for various attractions. We bought tickets for a horse-drawn carriage tour, which was quite informative.
We were recently here when we visited Charleston and were very happy with the friendly and helpful staff. You can get help with sightseeing tour information, local attractions, lodging recommendations and reservations and even restaurant recommendations. They have all kinds of brochures, a small gift...More

...but I was not visiting with any thought to RV travel. I cannot recall even seeing an area large enough for an RV to park. The parkade is a cement covered structure that goes up four or five floors similar to what you find beside a shopping mall. I think it would have a height restriction.
There's lots of space at the back of the building but that's where all the tour buses line up to pick up their groups.
I would definitely phone and ask before you go there with your RV. They are extremely helpful and friendly.
One nice thing is that Charleston is surrounded by a lot of beach communities that are all within a 10 to 20 minute drive. So I would think that there are lots of places to settle in. Sorry I couldn't be more help.
