This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about!...

This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about! I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before...

Just took my family on an hour & half + tour of Morris Island and the Lighthouse with some shelling and Dolphin spotting. Captain Gresh was wonderful. He''s an 8th generation local who knows and happily shares all of the local history and interesting facts, and there were Revolutionary and Civil War battles all over, it's Charleston after all! We... More

We loved our day exploring with Captain Gresh! He is so personable and shares history of the area, the ecosystem and his family heritage. It is so interesting that you can't believe how quickly a couple hours can pass! Our favorite part of the tour was hunting for artifacts on Morris Island, where we scored some amazing finds. Between the... More

Everything about this tour was phenomenal. It's quite apparent that Gresh loves what he does and is proud of his homeland, the eco-system, the rich history. As noted by LOTS of other trippers, Gresh is VERY knowledgeable about the marshes, the wildlife, Morris Island, the Civil war, and the treasures on the beach :) Gresh is very professional but shares... My wife and I have been on tours before and they have been great but seemed canned. Capt Gresh made everything personal and made you feel like a local. We started out with the tide in and Gresh pointed out the tops of an oyster bed and reminded us to check them out on the return. We took a leisurely... More

We highly recommend Capt Gresh's trip around the estuary's of Charleston. The 3 of us sailed at 3.00pm and Gresh eased us into the life and history of the waters he's grown up in. We saw the huge natural oyster clumps and bird life that Gresh explained to us. The breeze from the boat makes it a lovely couple of... More

Fun? Check! Informative? Check! Relaxing? Check! This tour gave us exactly what we were looking for on a boat tour. Gresh has been here all his life. The history that he knows and shares is excellent. We learned so much about the area through the stories he told and the marine life that we saw. We thoroughly enjoyed wandering around... More

My sister-in-law scheduled this tour for the family. This was one of the, and only, tour that was exceptional!! Captain Grish was a great host and tour guide by giving us the history of the area. We were less than 2 feet from dolphins! He took the time to show the kids how-to catch shrimp. It was a great experience... More

From age 14 to 70 we all loved this experience the most out of our entire week at Folly. Captain Gresh Meggett was so passionate about the history of the island and also the Dolphins constantly surrounding us. He could even identify them by their fins. It is like you are in another world. So peaceful. Oh and the shells,... More

Captain Gresh was great. His love for the area really shows as he's navigating you through the river he grew up on and over to Morris Island. Learned a lot and it was very enjoyable.
