Walter and Melanie are amazing! The boat is very special and immaculately maintained. We could not have had a better time. We saw dolphin, loggerhead turtles, pelicans, etc. Walter let us bring a feast on board which made the evening even more special. We highly recommend this activity!!!

What a wonderful evening on the Dorothy with Captain Walt and Melanie! We booked this to celebrate 2 milestone birthdays in the family. 3 generations enjoyed a spectacular sunset cruise. Thanks for the memories. We now have a captain in the making 😀

Let me start by saying, I am a Charleston native. I haven't lived in Charleston since 1996. I do go back a couple times a year, to visit my family. Charleston has changed and continues to do so. There's so much to do and see in that beautiful city. I went back for a visit mid-April, to celebrate an enormous event in my life. I went to celebrate my 10 year sobriety anniversary! I have never been much of a "water lover", because of an early childhood memory on Folly Beach (being washed up on the rocks), so going sailing was never at the top of my bucket list. Well, I can honestly tell you, I have been missing out. I was only in town for 4 days and events worked out that I, along with 4 of my family members, were blessed to have taken an evening cruise on Dorothy. WOW! JUST WOW! It was amazing!!! This is going to be a memory I will cherish forever! I didn't even get a lot of pictures taken because I was enamored with the beauty and hospitality. Melanie, Walt and Fisher were amazing! Melanie went above and beyond to make us comfortable and relaxed. Walt was the perfect captain, patiently answering every question one of my family members had (her nickname is 'the interrogator' LOL). It was Fisher's, official, first time and you would have thought he was a pro! My mother, who can't swim and has never been in water above her waist (to my recollection), was on board and never seemed uneasy! I could never put into words how breathtakingly beautiful the scenery was. It is something you can not experience on dry land! I am still fascinated by the amount of work it takes to get those sails going and the team work it takes. I would and will recommend Sweetwaters Sailing Charters to anyone, whether you are just looking for something fun to do, or celebrating a momentous occasion. Even if you are a local just looking for a relaxing evening. You can't go wrong on this beautiful boat equipped with this supreme crew! If I had to use one word to describe my experience, it would be..... Utopia!

I chartered the beautiful Dorothy for a daysail with my two sons. The captain and crew were extremely professional, friendly yet not overly invasive and allowed me to peacefully enjoy a special day with my boys. The boat is excellent. We enjoyed having the stability of a larger vessel even though it was just the three of us on board. It was by far the highlight of the trip. We will absolutely do this again. If you are vacationing on Kiawah, you are missing out if you don't try a sail on Dorothy at least once!
