About
The Schooner Pride is an authentic replica of the 18th century tall ships that once dotted the Charleston Harbor carrying supplies and passengers to and from the plantations. She is USCG certified for up to 49 passengers and is the only 3 mast tall ship that offers public sails in Charleston Harbor. You can sit back and enjoy the the views and gentle ocean breeze or get involved with trimming the sails. We are not a narrated tour, but are happy to answer questions and point out interesting landmarks! Daily afternoon and sunset sails are available March - Early November. Special group sails and private charters available year round!

Staff was great, friendly, helpful and knowledgeble. I would recommend booking directly with Charleston Tours, they have their own website and all information is updated daily. If there is an unavoidable change, they will refund your money or happy to issue a gift card.

I enjoyed the Sunset Cruise Experience and recommend the experience with caviats.

Advance information well presented. Clear statement of expectations and limitations. This is not a narrated experience but Captain and Crew were attentive, friendly and willing to assist passengers with tasks managing lines and sails. Family Friendly for Older Children: Crew Member Erin and Captain Andrew were especially attentive to children providing photo ops, time "at the helm" and time for questions. This is a no-frills experience and extremely vulnerable to vagaries of weather.
Accessibility: Those with mobility challenges should heed information on line. NOTE: Charleston parking authority has limited unmetered parking. Parking garage available.
This experience is not interrupted by unneeded amateur jokes or comments about the local residents/celebrities. At about 50% capacity space was not too small, but with a full load experience would feel tight and questions of masking and distancing might impact a passengers choice.

First class sailing around the Harbour from the S.C. Aquarium, west to Charleston's Boat Shipping Area north and south across the harbour to The Battery, passing The Intrepid, and Ft. Sumner all during a sunset. Georgious pictures, met new people and engaged with very friendly staff. Perfect for a birthday or anniversary or family event.

We took the sunset cruise on the 4th of July. The captain and crew were excellent, followed safety guidelines and took appropriate measures to ensure passenger safety. I recommend this trip for anyone wanting a small group tour of the harbor.

We took the afternoon 1-1/2 hour Dolphin Tour of the Charleston harbor area. While we didn't happen to see any dolphins that particular day, we did see other wildlife and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing sail around the harbor, seeing the city from that perspective, and chatting with the crew and other passengers while enjoying a beer. I highly recommend this beautiful break in any vacation trip to Charleston.

Overall was ok, safe and nice crew. I especially liked Erin's kindness and her performance to raise the sail up. The one thing that kept in my mind is that the captain seems like not wanting to small talk Asians. I clearly saw him talking here and there a lot of passengers, even grabbed someone who was looking at somewhere else. I was expecting him to talk to us with smiling but when he saw we're Asians, he just passed us and grabbed the next people. I still remember how he was.

I was so disappointed. I booked a tour for my son and daughter in law to celebrate their 1st anniversary. They were in town for one night only. This has been an activity that I recommend for Charleston visitors regularly. I will be careful recommending it in the future.
Boat was to load at 6:45, so kids were in route when I got the call at 6:10 that the cruise was cancelled because the captain was ill. Seriously…you have only one available captain?!?! And the one you did have didn’t know he was sick until 45 minutes beforehand?
It was too late to make other plans. They were also on a limited budget and I couldn’t help much because I didn’t get a refund for almost 2 weeks. It was quite a disappointment for all of us.
Hopefully this doesn’t happen often.

Disappointing… not much more than a two hour boat ride. Way too expensive for what you get, in my opinion. You don’t even get close to the major sites. We did see some dolphins, but the crew makes little effort to point them out. In their words, “If you see them, tell a friend.” We won’t be back. I’m giving two stars because we did at least sail - we didn’t just motor around the whole time.

On this trip two young men were being trained to be shipmates. Training employees should be done on down time, not during tours with customers! Half of this sailboat tour was under power by motor because the sails had not yet been raised due to training! Dolphin sightings can not be controlled by the tour so the lack of seeing any doesn't come in to play. I will say that my wife and I couldn't complain as much as some of the other passengers because we received this tour as a gift for Christmas. HAD we payed for this ourselves, we really would have been displeased even more so!

I fondly remembered riding the Pride about 30 years ago . One year we took afternoon sail and the next year we took the twilight cruise. Loved that the most! Last week I got to take the twilight cruise with my grandson and his wife. We LOVED it! It was a gorgeous and delightful trip we will never forget. We highly recommended!
