We took this cruise in late October so the sun is setting earlier this time of year. The temperature was very nice and the river was calm. The boat is well maintained and many people were enjoying snacks and assorted beverages. We boarded quickly, found our chairs and after a brief safety briefing we were off.
We saw many sites along the cruise. Many of the Charleston historic water front homes were amazing from this vantage point. Seeing and hearing about the various forts around Charleston from the river is amazing as well. You can definitely get a feel for how these would protect the city from a a naval invasion.
WE then came back and came alongside the Yorktown and other vessels moored as part of the modern military ships for touring. Again very nice to see these from another ship to get a feel for their size and shape.
FIanlly we cruised to the bridge and I was able to get a lot of neat shots showing off the geometry of the lines and curves of the roadway. At this point the sun was definitely setting and we got some amazing shots of the skyline and bridge at this point.
All in all a very nice cruise. We got back and disembarked a little after seven and went straight to dinner. Highly recommended.

Charleston is one of my favorite cities to visit. Every time I get a chance, I either go to the beach or hang around the city. This time, me and my family decided to do their tours and chose Charleston Harbor Tours for it and bought their boat and horse and carriage package. Loved the experience, the boat ride was super informational and a great ride. From the captain to the staff were all super nice and helpful. even the bicycle guy helped my dad get to the line faster by giving him a lift!

The horse and carriage ride was also nice except for that moment when the Owen Wilson-looking guy kind of tripped and lost control of the horse after one of the tires popped. It all happened so fast but as he lost control, he pulled one of the strings instead of both of them to stop the horse (harmony) which lead it to make a super sharp turn, almost tipping the carriage. Scary, I know but nothing serious happened. The horse just freaked out but he (Owen Wilson-looking guy) was able to calm the horse and get it back to course within seconds.

After thinking about how it all went down, my rating of 5 stars remain because he (Owen-looking buy) handled the situation like a pro, got us back to safety super quick and kept us informed that it will be a loud ride back because of the missing tire. He had mentioned being a horse trainer for many years before this job and that situation showed his experience and level of expertise. Needless to say, I trust these guys and would definitely pay for another horse and carriage trip!

Overall, great experience, would recommend to others. Charleston is a beautiful city and these guys know their stuff!

Thanks

We booked this on a Sunday night before boarding Cruise ship in Charleston on Monday morning. We had a very pleasant experience! The boat we were on was very nice and had walk-up bar downstairs where you could get soft drinks as well as adult beverages and popcorn. The tour around the Barbour was great with very informative narration of what were seeing. Between narration, they had a great music playlist going. My family and my teenage daughter has a great time and would do it again. We did the Sunset tour and would do it again. The weather was perfect!

I've taken this tour twice before when family visited me (I live in the area). The tour guide was an AP History teacher and I was fascinated with all of the history he shared with us. The knowledge he shared with us seemed limitless. This time, however, I could not have been more disappointed. The captain was the tour guide and he mumbled a few general things like "Sumpter Island is to the left." in such a memorized way, it was hard to distinguish his words. Most of the time, however, they played 70s music VERY LOUDLY. I did not take a historical tour of the Charleston Harbor to listen to 70s music. I will never take this tour again. I will bring my out-of-town guests (lots of friends and family visit me) somewhere else that is meaningful and worth the money.

Use a ecv scooter and called the main office to double check as the website stated wheelchair accessible and they said no problem
Purchase the tickets and arrived for the cruise and was told no you can’t take the scooter on and I mentioned that it was confirmed by their office and they didn’t care. I made it up the ramp with difficultly having to leave my scooter in the sun unattended while we cruised lucky it was there when I came back .
When I left the cruise a very rude young lady says she texted the main office and told them that scooters couldn’t be allowed with no apology.
The seating was okay but could
Not hear the captain/ tour guide
He did tell of the sights
But was moving quite quickly and pictures where not really easy to take
I have taken several tours like this and I would have to say this was disappointing

We were very disappointed that we were NOT told it was a first come first to sit for the top deck seating. This was a surprise excursion for my 85 year old mother and she had to climb down the stairs to the inside bottom floor of the boat. This was very disappointing as if we had known in advance we would have booked a smaller charter boat with seating on top level of boat to view the sights and sunset outside.

Was very disappointed right off the bat that there were no eggs available on a brunch, there were 10 of us so we spent quite a lot of money for the cruise. I was told that the cook had a flat tire and didn't make the boat. There was also no air conditioning on inside either which made it extremely uncomfortable. In addition, we had a guest who is highly allergic to pineapple juice and the juices were not marked at all, looking just like the orange, which could have had drastic consequences. Lastly, the parking lot was well over an hour wait to leave as there was only one manned gate where you had to pay and the entire cruise was leaving at the same time. Made no sense, to just get another $6 from us should just have it open.

Overall the experience was fun but unless you’re sitting inside, you won’t hear anything from the speakers. It’s muffled at best if you’re on the back deck and there aren’t even speakers in the front. Despite that, it’s a relaxing boat ride and you still get a good view of everything.

The combo bundle with another attraction makes the value even better — though it’s a little ridiculous that 1 bottle of water costs $4, especially in this heat

Overall enjoyed the experience but wouldn’t book again

As requested, we arrived at 4:30 p.m. for our 5 p.m. tour....at approximately 4:45 when it was time to board, we're advised the trip was canceled because of "water issues with the toilets." There were only about 20-25 people waiting to board; my belief is they canceled because the trip didn't fill...either way, it ruined our afternoon and I'm still out $30 for uber trips to and from for nothing....be leary and ask how full the boat is if you reserve.

This is absolutely untrue. We have been extremely busy earlier in the season than ever before. We have not had to cancel any tours for low numbers. We had over 100 people booked on the tour we had to cancel and were very devastated to have to do so, but comfort and service are most important and we did not think it was appropriate to run a 90 minute tour without functioning restroom facilities. Unfortunately, the problem arose after the previous tour and we couldn't get it diagnosed and rectified in time for the 5pm that day. We refunded or rescheduled all guests. Sorry you felt the need to write an inappropriate and accusatory review.

This is an attraction for people who just want to get drunk on a boat. There were way more people on the boat than there were places to sit. The mid-section was open in the back and was a bar with a line of people ordering drinks and a few tables. The upper deck was full and we tried sitting on the benches in the stern in the sun. You couldn't hear anything the captain was saying. You could only hear the music when it was on and crowd noise. I went down a flight to a dining room area that was slightly better and ended up in the window seat to the front of that section where I could hear the captain. But the boat goes nowhere near the interesting sites like Fort Sumter or the other forts or islands. Not much to see, it's all at a distance. Then it turns around and goes back and the big whoop is apparently blowing the horn under the bridge. Then there is a swarm of people rushing the gangplank to get off. Also, the building and area around it is pretty run down. We have had MUCH better river cruises on the Mississippi out of Dubuque. We considered it a waste of time and money.
