This is a great place to walk around when visiting Bennettsville. They offer a paved path around the lake.

The property owners have to be put out as this was once a very nice place but not now it's just a large mess seems a shame to have nice homes on a mud puddle maybe they can get it together once had nice public swimming area ski area and aside for fishing now not so great picnic areas in kept overgrown edges and one side is a mud puddle

nice area to bring the family for a cookout, fish, to feed the ducks or just relax. I do not advise you to swim out there.

One of the few attractive things in Bennettsville

Well, arguably the only one. I spent two weeks in Bennettsville for a dog sport competition, and this is where I took the dogs for leisurely strolls. The land bridge that divides the lake into two halves is quite serene and allows for long walks. In October, there was absolutely no one on the lake, just a couple of fishermen along the shorelines.

Very nice spot for a day trip!
Jun 2015 • Family
There is a nice spread out like beach area for adults and children alike to enjoy either playing in the sand or enjoying the water.
The only downside that I found to this place is that the boats come in a little to close to where the swimming area is.
No where to change so please change before you go.
Other than that....enjoy:)
Its free to park and swim.

Great place for a small town
Mar 2014 • Friends
I grew up in Bennettsville and as a native you spend some time there . You can fish , swim , ski , boat , relax , picnic , spend some quiet time just thinking , it's all up to you ! There is also an area called Jack's Island where it has a covered picnic area where you can get together with friends . We did a small class reunion there a few years ago . It also has a walking/jogging path and they have a marathon every year . Lots of memories there . I went fishing there with my Dad and friends , hung out and listened to music and had some beers with friends , and of course watched the submarine races with the girls . Ha ha .

Large Recreational Lake in City of Bennettsville SC

How lucky are us locals to be able to fish, jet ski and swim in the waters of Lake Paul Wallace! More than 600 acres of picture book quality beauty and peaceful serenity right in town.

Lake Paul Wallace , a peaceful place to fish, feed the birds.
Lake Paul Wallace is a very scenic area in Bennettsville! It's located within the city's limits,
and generally a place where men, women, and teens go , when they want quiet time, or a time to
think and reflect. The really nice part of your visit is the
way the various birds will approach you ,looking
to be fed! Few people actually catch fish in this area, but it is a wonderful place to see the sights,
and have delightful conversation with the locals.
I grew up in this small town, and know first hand
the hospitality of Bennettsville! The next time you
are passing thru, stop by and visit the lake. I am
sure upon leaving you will have found the experience well worth your time.
