We caught the inshore trifecta of redfish, sea trout and a flounder on our expertly guided trip with Captain Steve. First red caught on our first spot 15 minutes from boarding. The boat is well provisioned and comfortable and Captain Steve was an engaging and informative guide with great local insight, fishing and otherwise.

We had an amazing Fishing Trip with Captain Steve this morning. We headed out at 0900 and clear wind-free day. Now, generally speaking, no wind means no fish. That was definitely NOT the case today!!! Captain Steve took us to some great fishing spots. Big Reds were the choice of the day, along with a flounder and some Speckled Sea Trout. Check out the pics. And we “caught” a pineapple that escaped from someone’s boat!!

Made a reservation after Hurricane Irma. Capt. Steve felt the bite might be good. Went on a four hour. Conversation with Capt. Steve centered around his drinking habits, pretty girls and he and his wife's vacations, none of which were of much interest to my wife and I but we were gracious guests on his boat. Caught some fish, one being a nice keeper red fish. It was at that point that the Capt. said he does not like to keep fish. I asked if I could keep it for dinner and while he was not enthusiastic about it, he let me keep it. Found some more fish, all small but fun to catch. Back at the boat ramp I went to get the fish out of the live well and asked if he was going to fillet it. He responded "no" and that he did not carry knives for that task. He referred me to Sea Eagle Seafood to have them do that as they would and charge me by the pound. He was very indifferent to us once back at the dock. I paid him his fee, included a tip (I feel it is respectful to do so) and we parted ways. What happened to the fish, you may ask?? I put it back in the water. Maybe I will catch it this year. In summary; we have chartered with Captains from SC to the Keys for many years and used some Captains twice a year. Capt. Steve will not be used again by us. PS: Nothing on his website at the time or in conversations over the phone indicated his catch and release policy.

Captain Steve was a blast to hang out with, he was well versed in his craft and was able to teach me not only about local marine life and ecology, but also helped me to hone in on my fishing skillz. His charter was one of the highlights of my vacation and was well worth budgeting for during my trip. As a single woman he assured me he would not murder me on his boat and I am alive and well to write him a rave review!!! Thanks Captain Steve!!!!

Four of us went out with Captain Steve Roll of "Seas so Shallow" charters out of Beaufort , SC Nov 11th . We had originally planned to fish the Coosaw River but the skipper sized up wind and weather conditions and changed plans at the last moment and we went to the Broad River. He put us on fish right away and we continued to catch 5-8 lb. redfish all day with only a slight lull at slack tide. Steve knows the waters of the low country and where to find the fish. " We will go again and highly recommend Captain Steve.

Our trip to SeasSoShallow with Capt. Steve and our vacation at his and Mrs. Dana's lovely cottage for almost a week was well worth it. Our cottage had everything you would need, You wanted for nothing. They were very gracious hosts and also recommended many wonderful restaurants that were superb. Capt. Steve also fixed us a homemade fresh redfish dinner which also included his homemade banana pudding, Dana's homemade cookies, great sandwiches and chicken and drinks on our two fishing charters. You must also book a fishing charter or two or more with Capt. Steve. He was a great host out on the water too. He tried to get us in on a lot of fish and took into account what we wanted to fish for and we had a ball. The cottage speaks for itself, please look at the pictures they have on the web site. They also supplied us with a park pass and we went to the beach and light house. Capt.Steve and Mrs. Dana will help you with all of your questions and needs. you will not be disappointed. The price is very well worth it for all that you receive. My husband and I enjoyed our trip tremendously and hope to go back soon.Beaufort,S.C. and the surrounding areas are great and you will be in a very safe area.

My family went out with Capt Steve this morning for 4 hours. Caught 10 fish including one TOO BIG to keep. My teen girls had a blast! Steve was very knowledgeable and so polite! Highly recommend Seas So Shallow for any one wanting to fish safely and exciting! Ask him to bring his homemade chocolate chip cookies as snacks!

Went fishing with Captain Steve the morning of Nov 20th 2015. Caught a dozen or so Red Drum, luckily 3 (limit) were small enough to keep. I also kept 1 trout. Having no experience cooking Red fish, I continued to follow Captain Steves advice and the results were fantastic ! I had wonderful time and certainly look forward to my next trip to Beaufort.
