We have never been on an in-shore fishing charter before, so after reading all the reviews online, we decided to book our trip with Cast Away Fishing Charter. We are so glad we did! Captain Tim was super kind, very patient and extremely knowledgeable of the area and all the fish there were to catch. He made sure he had everything we needed and he took us to a lot of places to ensure we had fun and caught a lot of fish. We started out very early in the morning and fished until noon. Not being from the area, nor are we familiar with the insect activity, we did not know to wear long pants and long sleeve shirts. The bugs were biting more than the fish! Other than that, we had an amazing fishing trip and highly recommend booking your trip with Cast Away Fishing Charter!

We took a half-day hook and cook with CastAway Charters. Captain Kevin was our guide. He was very professional and did exactly what he said he would do. we caught black drum, sea trout and a redfish, plenty to cook for lunch it was a great day and I would recommend Captain Kevin to anyone wanting to have a great fishing experience.
The boat was was nice and his tackle was first class. Captain Kevin was very knowledgeable about the area and kept us interested even when the fishing got slow. We definitely will go back.
The “cook” part of the trip was more than a fish fry. The chef at the 11th street dock made a meal that was fit for a king.
Thanks to Ms. Captian Tina for setting everything up.

First trip with Cast Away was with Captain Tim and he not only put us on fish but was an excellent guide who clearly loved sharing his knowledge with us in addition to putting us in front of fish. A couple years later we came back to Fripp and I called Catain Tim right away. He was booked but was able to schedule us for two days with Captain Kevin Mears. Kevin was another outstanding guide. Born and raised in the area he has a wealth of knowledge and he put us on LOTS of fish both days even when the weather indicated that the fishing might not be very good. If you want knowledgeable guides and a great fishing trip in the Beaufort, S.C. area - you want Cast Away Fishing Charters

My 19 year old daughter and 9 year old grandson, and I fished twice this week with Captain Tim. Our first trip out was the day after a tropical storm so I didn't expect many fish. Boy was I wrong! Captain had us on fish in no time and we left with 4 keeper trout. Captain filleted those trout for an amazing lunch at Fishcamp restaurant after our second day of fishing. Captain does have the moves like Jagger and he let me take a dip in the drink. Thank you for helping our family make memories that will last a lifetime. We appreciate what you folks do more than we can say. Thank you!

Experience REALLY matters… this is what I will remember most about Captain Tim of Cast Away Fishing Charters. I predominantly fish lakes, so saltwater marsh fishing was a new experience for me. Starting with planning the charter according to the tide and weather, he expertly located channels where fish could be located and snagged. With 20+ years experience, he not only knew where to find them, but also could expertly cast bait to within inches of the edge of a channel or inlet being fished. He was great at knowing how long to stay; was considerate of his fellow fishermen; was patient and instructive with me; and quickly learned what kind of music I liked, my skills (eroded over the years), and balanced the love of the water and scenery with just enough chit-chat. I did lose a big redfish right at the end (because I did not pay enough attention to keep my line from getting hung on the front gear), but did manage to catch a decent Spanish mackerel and redfish earlier. I cooked the filets when I got home, and they were delish. The only downside to the trip was how fast the half-day went. All in all, a great trip, and VERY enjoyable. I highly recommend this experienced pro.

I would highly recommend Cast Away Charters if you're in the Beaufort or Port Royal area. The day started out under marginal conditions at best with high winds, rough water and a tide that was higher than normal. Capt. Kevin Mears with his experience and knowledge was able to put us in the right spot and on the fish immediately. This was definitely the best charter service I've had in the last few years and I will book with them again when I'm in the area. A first class operation. Thank You

I recently booked two charters with Captain Tim of Cast Away Fishing Charters. On our first trip Captain took me to an awesome fishing spot. Within a few minutes of the first cast…..FISH ON!! We caught some huge reds, and the second one we hooked up with turned out to be my PB red!! The second trip was another fun day on the water. We caught multiple fish, including more redfish, and I wound up getting a nice keeper Flounder to put the cherry on top of the trip!
I highly recommend Cast Away if you are looking for a great day of fishing in the lowcountry! Thanks for 2 awesome days on the water, Captain Tim!

This trip was fantastic all around!!!
The communication to set everything up was clear , informative and timely. I was notified the day before the exact meet time and dock . Captain Kevin was at the dock early waiting on us ( we were early as well ) he was really easy to talk to and very informative. As for the fishing 3 of us went on the trip , none of us were with out a pole in the water for more than 1 minute other than change of location trip. We were immediately on fish with all 3 of us pulling in fish at the same time often ! A wide variety of fish was caught reds , trout, black drum , whiting and others . We had quite a few keepers that captain Kevin cleaned at the dock for us . Well worth the cost for the trip I will be booking with them again when we return!!

Cast Away Fishing Charter far exceeded our expectations!!! First of all, they got us a charter last minute during their busy season after another company had to cancel on us due to bad weather. Mrs. Capt. T was wonderful to work with and our charter captain, Kevin, made sure there was never a dull moment on our trip! Because of Kevin's knowledge base and experience, we were able to catch at least 8 red fish and 1 trout (and lost 2 bobbers...sorry Kevin!) We're already eager to schedule another trip with Kevin and Cast Away Fishing Charter!

My best buddies and I found it impresive that Capt Tim gave our shoes a bath before leaving the dock
We caught some very nice Red fish (27+)and some nice keeper trout.
We plan to return again. AND a BIG Thank You to MRS CAPTIAN she is so GREAT ,I know she hass her hands full.")
