U.S. cemetery... bout what you'd expect...

Quiet, organized, neat. Like you'd expect of the military. I honor our veterans by saying this, they would appreciate the manner in which they are remembered.

I have driven by the National Cemetery many times before I decided to stop and explore. I was surprised to see how big the cemetery is. Walking around in the peace and quiet, while reading the stones, reminded me of the enormous sacrifice these soldiers made for us for a better life. I look forward to visiting again.

I've been coming to this cemetery for the past 37 years. It is one of the best kept cemetery in the area. I've been here most holidays and Veterans' Day each year.

We stopped by for a bit to pay our respects to the many interred in this cemetery. Since we are a military, we made it a point to leave a penny on some of the soldiers markers.

I try to visit all the national cemeteries that I come across and was glad that I was able to make a stop at the one in Beaufort. My favorite part was the memorial to the 19 black union soldiers that were found buried on Folly Beach and reinterred here in 1989. I had a hard time finding some of... More

Very clean, well laid out, inviting, much larger than imagined. We spent a couple of hours there and could spend more. Something for Beaufort to be proud of.

This is such an experience and a must visit location. Upon entrance the site of all the graves of those who served and died for their country is something to see the way the stones are placed . The feeling you get is one to remember. There is a free information paper that is very helpful . A visit is a... More

If you have ever visited other national cemeteries, you are familiar how they are laid out. This one has huge lines of Oaks with Spanish moss. Best time to visit is on a holiday when there are flags on every grave site but if you aren't here on a holiday, visit anyway. You'll be glD you did.

clean, peaceful, organized. and they have lots of respect. i think is not like you should go and take pictures, but i would say that if you want to be grateful and thankful for what you have this place will show you that.

The Beaufort National Cemetery is free and well maintained. You will know you are there when you see the attractive and distinctive brick fence surrounding the cemetery. Allow time for a visit here. You can just drive slowly around the cemetery and leave if you do not have enough time to walk around. There are maps along with an explanation... More
