The staff were all very friendly and held conversations with us. The chocolate was delicious. There was a lot of variety. We really enjoyed all of the chocolate we chose, but we do highly recommend the salted caramel in both milk and dark chocolate.

We went there as part of a tour. We tasted some chocolate when we first entered the store and could not leave without buying some. The chocolate is absolutely delish!!! This is the place to go if you love Forrest Gump. The box of chocolate cake from this store.

By far the best chocolates I've ever had, and I consider myself a chocolate connoisseur ! Beats Sees and Kilwins hands down! The carriage tour guide pointed it out and said we had to go there - and ask for a sample. One taste and I knew I wasn't getting out with just one piece! I recommend the giant peanut... More

I was so happy to have the opportunity to stop by and get some candy and chocolate! We got a variety pound of chocolate, salt water taffy, and gummy soldiers for $20 and it was all SO good!

The prices are average (for handmade) at The Chocolate Tree but then so is the chocolate. The dark chocolate was better than the milk chocolate. My grandchildren liked that you could buy chocolate sand dollars and shells. But in my humble opinion Krause's Chocloates in Saugerties, NY is so much more delicious!!

We brought some friends visiting from overseas in to this iconic store. We were left bitterly disappointed after encountering the rudest shop assistant EVER. Avoid the older lady with blonde hair and bangs. She totally ruined our experience and unfortunately we won't ever return because of her. YES, she was THAT awful .

Bought a variety of chocolates here. All were excellent. This is the chocolate shop where Forrest Gump bought his chocolates. I was told that for many years later the owner sent Tom Hanks a box of chocolates on his birthday. Well worth a visit.

First, I have to say that we won a box of chocolate covered strawberries from a Beaufort website, but what a great welcome to this city. We got to watch them actually crafting the same candy through a viewing window while there. Not only do the offer some very amusing choices (chocolate handcuffs, anyone?) but souvenir chocolates shaped like beach... More
