The prices are average (for handmade) at The Chocolate Tree but then so is the chocolate. The dark chocolate was better than the milk chocolate. My grandchildren liked that you could buy chocolate sand dollars and shells. But in my humble opinion Krause's Chocloates in Saugerties, NY is so much more delicious!!

We brought some friends visiting from overseas in to this iconic store. We were left bitterly disappointed after encountering the rudest shop assistant EVER. Avoid the older lady with blonde hair and bangs. She totally ruined our experience and unfortunately we won't ever return because of her. YES, she was THAT awful .

Bought a variety of chocolates here. All were excellent. This is the chocolate shop where Forrest Gump bought his chocolates. I was told that for many years later the owner sent Tom Hanks a box of chocolates on his birthday. Well worth a visit.

First, I have to say that we won a box of chocolate covered strawberries from a Beaufort website, but what a great welcome to this city. We got to watch them actually crafting the same candy through a viewing window while there. Not only do the offer some very amusing choices (chocolate handcuffs, anyone?) but souvenir chocolates shaped like beach... More

Great chocolate, especially the dark chocolate. A little pricey but yummy. They have a wide selection of treats. They also sell the candy molds they use. I know our family will appreciate these souvenirs!

I am a sweet fanatic, but tend to pick baked goods over candy or ice cream. However, the buggy tour driver talked this place up enough I decided I should at least try it. I was surprised by how big the store was and it was packed! Grant it, it was two days before Easter, but there wasn't an extra... More

All I can say is pure heaven on earth. From the moment one walks into The Chocolate Tree you are welcomed by the beautiful aroma of chocolate. Our tour guide recommended this place and suggested the chocolate covered strawberries. These are triple dipped in rich dark chocolate with a huge strawberry in the middle. It has to be the BEST... Absolutely stop here. There is something for everyone and everything is yummy. Tom Hanks loved this chocolate. We stop here every time we are in town. Get the turtle.
