I have not been in the store, I received a two pound box as a Christmas gift from a relative who lives in Beaufort. Out of two pounds of assorted chocolates I can honestly say there was maybe one piece that I thought was any good. Offered pieces to others who had the same reaction. I do not see what the hype is all about. The cream centers were indistinguishable as to what the flavor was. They were simply sweet.
Pretty sure the relative that ordered them does not eat sweets so had no idea that it was a waste of their money.

My wife and I stood in line to buy a box of chocolates. We waited in line behind everyone else who was picking their individual pieces of chocolate. Then, while at the register, two different cashiers decided to take payment from people who were behind us. There we were, cash and chocolate in hand, and we were skipped over for people behind us 3 times. After waiting 10 minutes at the register for someone to acknowledge we were there, we finally put our chocolate down and left. I’m sure the chocolates are good, based on the online reviews, but the service is absolutely horrible. No “hello,” no “how can I help you,” no anything. Three employees working the front counter and not a one of them had any awareness of who was next in line.

I’m amazed this place gets good reviews. We bought a variety of chocolates and they were all lousy. I’m comparing their product to other candy stores like See’s in Arizona. And the chocolates were just as pricy as chocolates from good candy stores. Sorry, but this is not good candy. You’d be better off buying cheap chocolates from the grocery store,

As soon as you walk in the door, you smell IT. And IT is divine! No trip to Beaufort is complete with a visit here. I love that you can buy a piece of this, two pieces of that and complete your own box of chocolates with your favorites. The only hard part is deciding! It all looks, sounds... and tastes... delicious!

We visited this shop on the recommendation of our horse and buggy driver who advised that Tom Hank’s chocolate was bought from this store for the movie Forest Gump. Being familiar with movie, we thought we would see some memorabilia in the store but there was nothing. We were the only customers in the store during our visit and the staff could not have been more disinterested in our presence and seemed to care less if we bought anything or not. We had to keep asking for help and assistance.
We found the prices expensive and did not buy any pre-packed items. On a positive note the store is clean and offers a large selection of choices. We all (5) picked out a piece of chocolate from the display case and none of us thought this chocolate was better than anything we have ever had before. I would not go out of your way to visit this chocolate store.

We visited The Chocolate Tree recently and found the store to be very nice. They had all kinds of different chocolate bunnies and Easter chocolates like the filled eggs. We liked everything we bought but they are a bit pricey. I would definitely go back when in the area.

Forrest Gump's chocolate shop! Everyone said to go to the Chocolate Tree. Mmmm. Lots to choose from and delicious treats. A bit pricey but you have to buy something since the fragrance if chocolate invites you in. We bought a box of mixed chocolates and loved every one!

Get Chocolate! If that’s your thing, from the Chocolate Tree in Beaufort. I’ve had chocolate in many of the best places (Belgium) in the world and this ranks right up there. Took 4lbs home. The lady who was helping us fill up was quite knowledgeable and fun to talk to. The raspberry filled chocolates are to die for as are the bourbon truffles. Don’t miss this place if you love chocolate.

Definitely stop here....it is not on the main street, but do make it a stop while in Beaufort. It was all set up for Halloween, and the selection was amazing. Probably one of the nicest shops I have been in. I bought many items!!! including Halloween candy for my grand daughter, Chocolate suckers of various Halloween characters, plus additional candies. She loved the variety. Chocolate is great tasting and they make it all there..and you can watch!!!

Lots of chocolate options. Seemed less of a candy store, which makes sense. Overall tasted pretty good. I think the disappointing part was the service. The lady behind the counter was (at best) bored by us or (at worst) thought we were idiots because we took a little time (< 1 minute total) picking out our choices. Maybe she's used to locals with their favorites in mind. Or she just couldn't care about tourists stopping by and doesn't expect repeat business. Cause I'd tell you Godiva chocolates from the store taste just as good.
