I had an amazing time at Boston Skydive Center and would highly recommend the company. It was the best experience for the price anywhere in Boston. The Company is a family-run business and they are professional and extremely nice. I accidentally left my housekey at Boston Skydive Center and they actually mailed it back to me the following day!

The dive itself was incredible. The area where you drop has a clear view of the ocean as well as lakes, farmland, and cityscapes. I went tandem and the instructor I was jumping with had already completed over 25,000 dives! It feels very comforting to know that the instructors are so experienced.

Would highly recommend: 9/10

This was simply a fantastic time! Having never skydived before it was nice to have a group that is experienced and honest in the entire process. This was a gift from my wife for my birthday and was always something I wanted to try. We arrived to the airport and were immediately greeted by one of the owners and jumpers. They were very friendly and reassuring of the entire process. We did have some poor weather the first day and could not jump, however Boston Skydive was very accommodating and found an alternate date that would work around our schedules. They even offered that if this was not going to work at their Lincoln facility they would arrange for a reservation at their Newport, RI location.

I am a bit afraid of highs, however surprisingly once up in the air and even hanging out of the plane waiting to jump this was not so bad. I wish I remembered the gentleman that I jumped with as he was fantastic! He was a British gentleman who had jumped over 21,000 times. He explained the entire process and the safety of jumping, how the harnesses worked, and what the process was once in the air, etc. All the time it was a very calming discussion that really put me and one of my friends who joined me at ease.

The jump itself is from 10,000 ft. with about a 45 second freefall. This is a bit higher than most other companies, with a bit longer freefall. It takes about 20-minutes to get to this height and you are crammed into a small 4 seater plane (no longer having the seats), sitting back to back with your jumper on the floor of the aircraft. If planning to jump with friends keep in mind that the plane can only hold 2 people (not including the Skydivers). I would also suggest going with a friend as it makes the experience more fun, a bit easier as you climb to 10,000 ft. Ponce at altitude everything happens pretty quickly as you are locked tandem into your Skydiver, the door opens and you are asked to sit on the edge of the plane with your feet on a small platform. Before you even know what you are doing you are rolled out of the plane and falling, which doesn’t even feel like falling at all. In fact you feel like you are floating or flying during the free fall and the scenery is absolutely incredible! No plane ride, helicopter ride, etc. can compare to how you can see 360 degrees everything around you. After the freefall the descent is basically a leisurely float to the ground. You are given the opportunity to steer the parachute and the landing is smooth as you basically glide in and sit down on the ground.

Overall Boston Skydive did a great job! I would absolutely do this again with them!

TIPS
Get the picture and film package as this is something that you might only do once and it does come out nice. They also complete the DVD while you wait, so nothing is mailed and potentially lost, etc. It is a bit pricey, but you’re not going to get pictures any other way.

Go with a friend, it makes the experience easier and a lot more fun!

Be patient as ideal weather is needed to jump. Be prepared that you may have to wait hours to jump or even postpone to another day. I would suggest not having anything else planned for the day you jump.

Don’t miss the turn! When arriving at the airport the parking lot is a bit hidden. There is a sign saying “skydive”, but it is small and we noticed blows over in the wind. The entrance is a very small one lane drive and the only entrance on that road for airport access.

Ok, so skydiving has always been on my list of things to never try in life, right alongside sticking a fork in an electrical socket. I'm terrified of heights and don't get a whole lot of enjoyment out of massive adrenaline rushes, so I've never seen a point to jumps. My friend has been trying to get me to go (he's a big thrill seeker) and I sort of lost a bet to him and had to do this. I was very much dreading the experience.

When we got there, the staff was very professional and helpful. They explained everything well and got us suited up and ready to fly pretty quickly. It gave me some measure of confidence knowing that both of our instructors had jumped literally thousands of times and knew what they were doing. I kept reminding myself that I wasn't actually in any real danger and it was just a mental thing.

The jump itself wasn't too bad. The worst part was when my instructor opened the door and had me stick my feet out. I wasn't as terrified as I expected I would be, but it still wasn't easy. After 2-3 seconds of being out of the plane, I was ok. Being so high up, it doesn't look or feel like you're falling, so I was somewhat desensitized to the height. The ride down was uneventful and we made a soft landing. I think I had fun, but it's hard to sort out all of the different emotions I was feeling throughout the experience.

My only regret/suggestion is that I wore light colored shorts. You land in the grass, so I got light grass stains on my shorts. I recommend wearing a darker color.

Overall, this was a good experience. I've written entirely from the perspective of someone facing their fears, rather than a thrill seeker. As I mentioned, I don't get a lot of enjoyment out of adrenaline, which is why my review doesn't really describe the jump in those terms. My friend I jumped with is a thrill seeker and he thoroughly enjoyed it. What I wanted out of Boston Skydiving Center was a safe way to face this challenge and that's exactly what I got.

Bottom line: whether you're a thrill seeker like my friend or just trying to face your fears like me, Boston Skydiving Center is the perfect company for skydiving and I highly recommend them.

I have to begin by saying that I would have never in a million years would have done this if it wasn't because my husband wanted to do it for his 40th birthday. The training is given while you are being harnessed about what to expect and more importantly what position your body should be and different stages. It all took from the prepping to getting back to terra firma..an hour.

I am afraid of heights, I thought I hyperventilate and go into a hysteria up in the plane. My friend and I went up first in the small plane. My hot skydiving partner...Chris, was very nice and kept my nerves calm.

So then, the door opens and its time to jump. holy s^*t, holy s^*t...Chris. .says to me..put your feet out on the step and remember to cross your arms, don't forget to give me a thumbs up.....OUT we went, my eyes were initially closed as we went forward in an arched position, then...

Oh my gosh....this is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! The views were breathtaking, I look all around, the Boston skyline, the Naragansett river, Providence, cows! hahaha Then I saw my girls and my family waiting for me down below. I was so excited to hug and kiss my children and to tell them what a FANTASTIC time I had.

They want to do it when they turn 18. Done I told them, I will go with them again and again and again. This by far has been the most exhilarating and empowering activity I have ever done. The adrenaline has left an amazing high in my mind...cloud 9 has nothing on me!!

I won't shut up about this adventure, because it has left me feeling fabulous and amazed that I actually went through with the jump.

Live large or go home! Do it!!

They guys who work at this place are awesome and very professional! Me and 6 other people in my family jumped for the first time here and we couldn't be more thrilled with our experience. They take 2 people up at a time. The two tandem instructors that worked with us were Jeremy and Chris and they were really cool and professional. They definitely make sure everything is safe and that you are comfortable with making the jump. They help to calm your nerves and make the experience awesome. If you get the video/picture package (which I would highly recommend you do) they edit it and have it ready for you within a couple of minutes after your jump. Its a $10 upgrade for a USB rather than the standard CD. Well worth the money for a once in a lifetime experience.
