We recently visited Scarborough State Beach since there is no out of state parking at Narragansett Town Beach and we were pleasantly surprised. The beach was very clean and the water was lovely with small waves, no strong currents. There was even a Del’s lemonade vendor! Groups were appropriately distance from each other. The out of state parking fee was super reasonable, even on a weekend. There were also many family groups which was a big change from the party scene in the past. I will definitely go back and recommend this as a great inexpensive day trip.…

We were staying for the week near the Narragansett town beach, however, the inability to park there led us to this beach. At only $12 a car (out of state rate), we could enjoy the day on a beautiful beach, have access to a snack bar, bathrooms, and a souvenir shop. We went three times and loved it. The only snag was that later in the week the governor ordered state beaches to limit capacity to only 25%. We lucked out on our last full day to be able to get in. …

Best RI beach. Very clean. Not to many teenagers. Very family friendly. Parking is a little steep a bit still a good all day bargain.

Well, when I go to Scarborough Beach, I drive to the end, where the grass is........ I park on the grass, just steps from the path to the sand....... This area is more for adults, because there are no lifeguards this far down....... It is perfect for not walking far, having your car shaded, and if you need to go back to the vehicle, it is right there......…
