This was a nice walk from our Galilee cottage. There was ample space, good views, clean restrooms and services.

After walking the beaches, one can explore the stores, marina and try various pastries or ice cream. Don't forget to bring your ice cooler with you when buying live lobsters & other seafood off those large fishing boats. Best to get there early once the morning traffic has gone.

This is a nice beach which is great for families due to the flat sandy beach, low surf, and access to local places in Galilee. If you're the type of person that is easily bored (or your kids are), you can take an easy walk to look at the fishing boats, or you can sit up on the breakwater and watch the boats go in and out. There are also some other little attractions and shops that are an easy walk. The downside is that the parking is almost non-existent for pass holders. I have only once successfully parked here with my beach pass and it was a Tuesday morning. The beach is still quite busy because the big parking lots for the Block Island Ferry are not too far of a walk away.

love this small but ultra clean State Beach went again for the first time this season and watched the young people picking up the smallest of pcs of what they would call trash. I could not even see it. The sand is great, the water is cold but refreshing at this time of year. They have everything you could want, clean bathrooms,a snack bar,a covered area for eating next to the boatway. Showers, and I could not believe it but a free dispenser of tanning lotion at a safe level . How nice is that? Walk to Georges to get food items and ice cream at their windows,a great beach for kids and a view of all the boats coming and going thru the waterway next to the beach. along the edge are outcropings for seating if you do not want to go down to the beach itself. This small State Beach has it all. however, limited parking in the lot which fills up early. If that is full go up the road to Wheeler State Beach. Huge parking lots, great for kids, small surf, clean sand, playground.

The Salty Brine is a small sandy beach that’s protected, so the surf is flat. It’s best to restaurants and the channel also you can watch the boats go by.
