We had a wonderful picnic on benches overlooking the water. You cannot get close to the lighthouse which is on government property but you can take pictures of it from a distance. Worth the visit.

This Lighthouse is not accessible to the public. It is inside a fenced area as part of a United States Coast Guard facility. However, directly across the street there is public parking with beautiful views of the shore from the bluff. You can get great photos of the Lighthouse from here as well. Free parking. Great Visit. If you are... More

I have been visiting here every year since 1970. Up until recently you were able to walk around the property and down by the rock. But because of safety reasons they have blocked of the "cliff" area and because of security issues the Coast Guard has fenced off the area. However, they have sitting areas and grass areas for the... Very sad that when for years we were able to walk around the lighthouse, picnic, enjoy the scenery and refreshing air- -a favorite place- and now all blocked off by Dept of Homeland Security.

Beautiful lighthouse, but not accessible to walk around, coast guard/homeland security property. Nice park for a picnic and view of the ocean.

A guide book highly recommended coming here and we went out of our way to come to a lighthouse behind a big fence. People were hanging out in the parking lot getting drunk on a Saturday afternoon. No beach that I could see. I left disappointed.

Perfect place to chill with exceptional views of the ocean and coast, while enjoying a refreshing breeze, any season. Bring some chairs, a book, some headphones, snacks, a picnic, and enjoy. Panoramic views abound.

You can't even access the area around the lighthouse. A boring parking lot saved by a nice view of the ocean - no unique for the coastline in general...

Not much to do here. I am used to lighthouses that are more scenic and you can tour (being from Florida).

This is a lovely view point for watching the sunset, it was windy but we walked around and read some of the plaques and took in the sail boats in the distance.
