This was a pleasant surpass, as I found it while driving back from a bird sanctuary. It is a small quiet beach, located next to a wild life refuge. Next time I will bring a bicycle so that I can cycle through the refuge and end at the beach.

the is the best beach in Newport or Middletown for parents with toddlers and small children. there are no waves to threaten young ones and it's quiet but with limited parking. ideal picnic beach for the family. well used in winter by walkers and shell collectors of all ages. nice little beach.

The only complaint I have about this beach is that they could rake some of the really sharp bits and shells every so often. In three hours I heard four people complain about cuts to their feet - and lo and behold then I cut myself. Since you charge for parking - it could be cared for just a bit... More

We stopped by and walked along this tiny beach at the end of April. It isn't groomed or fancy in the off season, but it looks like it probably gets spruced up and has some services available after Memorial Day.

When I can I try and walk Third Beach everyday. Its a great walk, and probably the best beach on the island to find shells.

We come to this beach by boat 2-3 times/year and it appears rarely crowded, a lovely, less known/used spot. Try it! Moorings available for boaters, pick one up and the harbormaster comes to collect the fee, was $20.

Very nice beach. End of the season. Quonquin hurricane dump a lot of rain and storm so we were not able to go out and experience the beach. The beach is easy accessible from the road. with beach number one beach number two close by.
