This is my second review of South Shore Beach and all stands as before except that we had an experience where 6 of us were carried out on a rip current. We had been jumping waves and body surfing all day, in and out of...More

Town beach. Residents get free auto decals for access to parking. All others pay a fee. Parking and beach sand area is limited. A healthy walk down the beach to Goosewing beach-beautiful, undisturbed but not ideal if you are lugging lots of beach day equipment....More

Beautiful, but alas, getting too well known and crowded. It has been our family's favorite beach for 30 years. We love it and drive from VA to go there and to visit family in the area.

Quieter beach than most at the end of the day. Less red seaweed than other RI beaches this weekend. This beach has lots of rocks. It does not have bathrooms or running water. It does have portapotties. Easy walk to Goosewing which is less crowded.

Very different from other beach experiences. Not like Outer Banks or Rehoboth at all. Very rocky and sandy areas required a hike. No food vendors at all. Very peaceful although very crowded.

Im sorry to say but it is only free for residents of town. You can go after 5 or 6pm when they are no longer charging beach rates.
