A beautiful place to relax and take in the wind, waves and sun. A blanket and picnic lunch completes the fun! There are beautiful places to stroll, read, sit on rocks, visit the museum and be refreshed. A wedding photo shoot was happening while we were there-stunning backdrops!

The light house was lovely, and two large horns sure to project some sound out to sea if needed. The park is worth visiting, beautiful rocks to sit on to enjoy the ocean views and beautifully keep lighthouse.

I have been coming here for years going back to the time when it was the East Coast Submarine Communications Center. It is a great opportunity to sit on the rocks by the ocean and just relax. You can see people fishing some, are snorkeling or spearfishing, you may even see a diver or two. You can watch boats and... More

The Beavertail Lighthouse and Park is one of the top sights along coastal Rhode Island. Perched on the rocky southern tip of Conanicut Island, Beavertail Light in Jamestown is one of the most iconic and historic lighthouses in New England. The Lighthouse Museum provides fascinating information about lighthouses, shipwrecks, hurricanes and navigation in Narragansett Bay and the Atlantic waters in... More

...balm for the landlocked. A visitor looking for sites cannot do much better than Beavertail Light and environs. I live in Jamestown, and Beavertail Light is my venue of choice when first time guests arrive. It is accessible and rarely overcrowded with respect to parking. Just a drive-through is worth it if it is crowded, but under such circumstances parking... More

I like free things, and this one's pretty cool. You may have to pay a toll to get on the island, but it's worth it. The lighthouse has been rebuilt a few times, but the original platform is still there (the current lighthouse was erected a few yards away). There are lots of great picnic spots around the lighthouse, so... More

Beavertail Lighthouse has a great presentation on lighthouses and the area coast. There is also information on the strategic importance of the area during World War II. For young children, there is a small aquarium. Worth a visit for the view. But we were disappointed that we were unable to actually go up in the lighthouse.
