Beavertail is a great little piece of RI. Not many people go so you can really enjoy the scenery. It is a great place to see the sunset as well as great some great pictures with the light house. Anyone can enjoy their time at Beavertail whether you are a family with children or just looking for a little day... More

We stayed in Jamestown and heard about the Beavertail Lighthouse - it is in such a lovely setting. There was free parking - depends when you went whether the walk was far or not. It seems you just park take a beach chair and sit on rocks near the water and enjoy!

Took a leisurely drive after work, so missed going inside the lighthouse. Lovely walk along the sea with several parking lots and nice lawns for picnics.

Great place to pack a lunch, sun chairs, and music. Sit along the beautiful edges of Jamestown. It's peaceful and quiet and most of all a beautiful way to spend an afternoon!!

We are so glad we drove out to the Beavertail Lighthouse and Park. At the South end of the Island where Jamestown is located, it has stunning views of the water, a not-to-miss Museum about Lighthouses and Maritime History, in a beautifully preserved historic Assistant Keeper's house. Also a lovely park for walking, biking, picnicking, just sitting in the sun.... More

Growing up in New England, I always return every year to this spot. It's a magnet that draws me here every year. The lighthouse is a working one with a maritime museuM. You can drive right around the lighthouse and park your car right there and walk on the rocks and enjoy the waves crashing on the rocks. The only... More

We walked down to the cliffs with our beach stuff and found a nice private cove to swim/hang out at - just the 3 of us! There was a lot of seaweed so you'd do more wading and rock climbing than full out swimming unless you're adventurous. Beautiful walks through vegetation at the top of the cliffs. Many paths to... This small park is a gem. The working lighthouse is one of the state's prettiest. The museum is worth a quick visit. But it is the views that make this spot very special. Beavertail sits at the very southern tip of an island, with views toward Newport, Narragansett with its fine beaches and the open ocean.
