Stopped here today and it was closed as it was not open for the season. We did meet with Richard who lived in the lighthouse when he was 6. He was full of knowledge and gave us a private tour!!! What an awesome place with great views of the shoreline. A must see if you visit RI

While on the Island of Jamestown in Rhode Island we had the opportunity to view the Beavertail Light House. While you can’t so inside of the lighthouse, the view from this point of the island was beautiful. We brought our lunch and had a picnic by the water, then went for a walk. There isn’t a guide tour of the... More

We found this wonderful place by goggle to see what was near as we were driving up the coast. So glad we could this place. It was rainy weather so maybe that's why the ocean was so powerful and beautiful. It was such a wonderful fine and a must see.

This was a beautiful park and lighthouse even though the lighthouse interior was closed (off-season visit). If we ever make it up to the Jamestown/Newport area again during the season, we'll have to come back!

I drove to the lighthouse on a snowy day. The roads, though snowy, were very passable. Upside - no one else was on the road and I went the last 4 miles without seeing another soul. In the solitude and comparative quiet of a New England snow squall, the light was wonderfully tranquil. As winds were light, the sea state... More

What a wonderful trip! If you are looking for coastal/cliff views, this is the place for you! Just walking around the area and enjoying the views is a lovely time. There are paths for you to walk on as well as the main road that folks walk on. Although I didn't stay for sunset or sunrise, I definitely would love... More

Beavertail is a nice place to go on a day to watch where the ocean and the bay meet and watch the waves hit the rocks. It is a lovely area to get some fresh air and walk.

Its free, its beautiful and lots to see, explore the grounds of the old military battlements, the lighthouse and museum are a thrill (make sure you check out the times they are open). Bring beach chairs and a pizza or pack a lunch and watch the sailboats.

Enjoy the lighthouse museum and small aquarium. Watch the crashing waves and views of Newport to the East and Narragansett to the West. Bring a picnic lunch and walk around the park.
