Fly kites, aquarium, lighthouse museum, some days climb to top of lighthouse, three restaurants three blocks away, the yachting capital of the east, Bridge to Newport or take ferry, endless activities there, farms and the Beavertail Park to hike.

This spot enhanced our recent week long vacation in Jamestown tremendously, and we returned to it three times during our stay. The lookout views are amazing there- ocean surrounding you on three sides... There are a number of spots where you can easily descend to...More

Besides the pretty lighthouse, there is also a lighthouse museum. While the museum is small, it has excellent detail regarding past keepers of the lighthouse, plus info on all the light houses in Rhode Island. Very thorough, and it prompted us to go visit a...More

Amazing view of Jamestown, could spend the entire day here. The waves look insane though, I would not get not the water but, some people do. Good spot for a picnic date.

We visited Beavertail Lighthouse on June 8, 2018. Our visit was later in the day. The museum was already closed and we pretty much had the area to ourselves. It is just a short walk from the parking lot to reach the lighthouse. This is...More

There is a lot of Maritime History packed into this road trip and the park, museum, and lighthouse are free! Some weekends have lighthouse tower tours for $5 too! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable!

The one-way road is the only 'paved' area and traffic is slow, I have seen strollers on the road, but other areas are grassed and any paths are rocky and not suitable for strollers.
