It's easy to purchase tickets. We took our vehicle and I was in shock how many cars they got on this boat!! The staff is experienced on directing the vehicles into tight spaces. The half hour ride left on time and was quite pleasant. I...More

Every year I tend to take the ferry over to Prudence, just for the views of the water. I'll go over in the afternoon, get off for a little while walk around. Then I'll stop in the little general store, and take the ferry back...More

The ferry can take 21 cars. If you want to take your car you should make a reservation. If you want to walk on, there should be no problem. Bring your bike for exploring. There is nothing to buy on the island so bring a...More

The same location for the ferry since I was young in the 60's. Small island off the coast of Bristol. My grandparents had a house on there for years.

I took the ferry to the island and just left my car in front of one of the restaurants. I was lucky I didn't get a ticket. On the way back we almost took out a boat at the docks with a family on it.

The day was very pleasant, the island is beautiful, the ride was refreshing especially on a hot day! I was not particularly thrilled with the parking arrangements, or with the limited discount for senior citizens $1 really?? Everyone was very polite though and accommodating otherwise....More

We were looking for a way pass a couple of hours before dinner, and the ferry is only a short walk from the Bristol Harbor Inn. The ferry is pretty small, holding fewer than 2 dozen cars plus foot/bicycle passengers, so it is a very...More

Relying on the available web/internet info for Prudence Island as a day-trip destination, we did not dig deep enough to uncover a few major LIMITATIONS (I'll call them that rather than negatives, because they may inconvenience some, but not others). First - the ferry. Unlike...More

A must if you are staying on or visiting the island. Just plain fun if you want an inexpensive ride on the bay.

No, It is not open to visitors. But you can walk up near it and touch it. FYI, as lighthouses go, it is not very tall or big around.
