It was absolutely goregous and loved walking around the garden all day. Very relaxing and make sure you wear bug spray because we got bitten by bugs. The ladies at the Manison knows the stories really well, when we had questions the ladies answered every one of them.

The small, historic town of Bristol is a short meander north of Newport and can easily be combined with a tour of Green Animals Topiary Garden in Portsmouth, RI (part of the Newport Mansions group). Just outside of Bristol are the house and vast gardens of Blithewold, another exceptional estate. If you haven’t OD’d on house museums (or even if... More

Went with a mom's group for daffodil days. On their website, they say the grounds open at 9a.m. but when we arrived, the staff explained it was not open til 10a.m. but we could pay in the honor box. The honor box incidentally, also says they are open at 9a.m. I paid in the box and went ahead in my... More

Hi Puella, I was concerned upon reading your review. I'm hoping between the two of us we can clear things up. You reported that our honor box and our website states that we open at 9am. I've searched and searched, I can't find any reference to a 9am open time. If you can remember where you saw that incorrect open... More

Last Thursday, July 7, 2016, we visited the a wonderful place called Blithewold with its 15 gardens and mansion. We were welcomed at the front door by a volunteer and had the pleasure of touring the mansion on our own and being able to sit on the veranda facing the ocean. As we toured it made us feel being back... More

Had a wonderful time visiting the house and walking the gardens and grounds. Views of the Bay are gorgeous and staff was pleasant and helpful. Also, clean rest rooms are available in the basement of the mansion.

Enjoy a day discovering the beautiful gardens and have a nap under the shadow while smelling the marine breeze. I really loved this place. It gives you an idea how wonderful summer days could had been at 1900

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour my group and I were given here. Our guide gave an enjoyable tour of the gardens and house. Answers to questions were happily given and ones that couldn't be answered were forwarded on to the appropriate person who could. I felt our guide went above and beyond. Grounds are beautiful and peaceful. As a gardener... More

Why thank you! I'm going to share this lovely review with our Tour Guides. They work hard keeping up with new finds in our Archives and making sure they know where the blooms are the best out in the Gardens. So glad you had a great time. Make sure to come back soon! Thanks More
