The Herreshoff was the venue of our dreams. We got married on the pier and then drove off on the boat Latitude. The site coordinator Meg was phenomenal! She went above and beyond to make sure our day was perfect and was exceptional at coordinating all the vendors. This views at the Herreshoff speak for themselves.

This museum may be small but it is packed with boating and other maritime information and displays, including real ships, ship models, sailing and shipping memorabilia. It is well worth the visit.

We arrived by boat and took a mooring in the museum's field. Dingyed in to the dock and walked across the street to the museum. Little did we know that this allowed all four of us free admission to the museum. The movie about the Herreshoff brothers was very, very interesting and informative. Just the right amount of information before you... More

Bristol has a huge maritime history, and Herreshoff was a large part of that. The Hall of Boats alone is wiorth the trip. If you enjoy history and you have even a remote interest in boats, take this in.

Fans of history, New England, craftsmanship and of course sailing will enjoy the wealth of history in one building. The Herreshoff Marine Museum is a must for the sailing enthusiast. America's Cup history is everywhere. Sandy gave a very detailed account of the Hereshoff brothers passion to bring to life well engineered boats/ships for the public and the racing elite.

Excellent diversion on a rainy afternoon. The museum has excellent displays on the family that built the first America's Cup boats as well as models and retired boats for exploring. Many thanks to the interpretive guide who helped make it interesting too. Glad we went!

This museum is great if you have an interest in small boats and personal craft. Very interesting to see how important Herreshoff was for the development of yachting and boating. While I am not a boat-lover, I still enjoyed the models and actual boats on display in the museum. Can be a bit boring if you're not interested in boats,... More

Wonderful celebration of yachting, racing, boat building and design. Adjacent to the museum is a proud collection of Herreshoff boats, some you can even board once you remove your shoes. Great displays, and helpful, knowledgeable staff. And a worthwhile gift shop.

Hereschoff has a long and proud tradition as a builder of sailboats. The museum celebrates the boats made here from the stately and winning 12 Meters, to the humble and beautiful Hereschoff work boats. This is a real treat for sailors or all skill levels. This is not a fancy museum, but an authentic former factory space and sail loft.... More
