I brought a visitor from Pittsburgh to see the history of my town, York PA. The museum at the Heritage Trust was great. Included in the price were tours of other attractions in York..the Bonham House, Golden Plough Tavern, General Gates house and the Colonial Court House. York played an important role in the American Revolution and not many people... More

I was a membership holder for several years, and never visited any of their sites. I was curious about the history of a place I worked downtown, so I went into the Trust to do some research. I attempted to find the information without asking anyone, but once I asked, they said that all of their information on the site... More

We visited the York County Agricultural & Industrial Museum at 217 Princess Street in York, Pennsylvania. This was well worth a visit. The museum was well coordinated and clean. Within, one could re-live the booming industrial age of Pennsylvania.....the beginning of air conditioning, flight, automobiles, telephones, printing, pianos, modern coffins, weight lifting equipment, screen doors and locked safes. They have... More

Had a link in my family tree that lead us to York PA to do a little digging. Found the research center and inquired regarding the family name. What we didn't expect was the wealth of knowledge and materials that the helpful and friendly staff and volunteers had on hand. We not only found our link, but apparently, my ancestors... More

My family and I enjoyed an exceptional tour of the Gates House and Plough Tavern. The guide was knowledgeable not only of the site but of the historical context. We learned a lot about an extremely well-preserved space. Must must must tour this spot if you visit York.

This is a grand building and a very nice collection of artifacts. They have a very good library and historical collection. The volunteer and professional staff are very knowledgeable about York County and the items in the collection. If you are searching for a relative this should be one of your first stops.

We visited this site with a 6 yr. old and father from California. It was facilitated by a guide. the various working parts of the museum = which is QUITE expansive - was quite awesome. most delightful hour + tour. MANY industries have contributed to the dioramas and working displays. Vehicles, machinery, and many surprises are here to enjoy.
