Description:

Because of the food safety restrictions, we can no longer offer tours through our production area. However we are able to provide a revised tour that includes a presentation of our history and a chocolate experience of how we make chocolate by hand and candy that cannot be made on a machine. You will see and learn how chocolate is tempered and how to make hollows. We also have a video available that shows plant production.

Currently our chocolate experience is available Monday thru Thurs at 1pm however with larger groups we may be able to accommodate other times.

Also, our Das Sweeten Haus retail store and museum are open most days. The Das Sweeten Haus museum features illustrations of old-time American candy craftsmen. You'll see many special display cases filled with wooden sugar molds, glass candy jars, and many other priceless antiques. You'll also see a video of the Wolfgang candy-making process ... Along with a complete history of the Wolfgang family who made their candy making dream come true in York, PA back in 1921.

Great chocolate in many varieties. A trip back to the past when people cared about their product. Never a disappointment!

We went the week before Christmas. The store is very small and doesn't offer much variety of candy. They sell chocolate in varying sizes and boxes. The taste is average, but they did have a few unique designs. A nice place to check out if you live in the area, but I don't see myself going again. The cashier was... More

People nice, store cute. Website implies, from old review, that they provide full factory tour. We were there on Wednesday 19, October 2016 -- NO TOUR, just background, history and explanation of how molds are used to make "hollows" and a quick view of the "test kitchen." Fun, pleasant, tasty but disappointing on the tour side.

Jay, thank you for your feedback. We've tried to counter this situation and I guess unless we close our current account open a new account on Trip Advisor we will continue to face the same feedback. We stopped offering full tours in 2013 and made all the proper notifications to Trip Advisor and the travel and tourism sites. Unfortunately, the... More

You can go in unimpeded and spend $10 for lots of CANDY, CHOCOLATE & the like. Almost never crowded. I do a lot of my Easter cand shopping there and have never been disappointed.

They used to give factory tours, no more. There are moldings and lots of bills on a display wall. Milk bills, electrical bills. Good to show things were cheap.. but you made pennies per hour. Great candy (got some chocolate covered pretzels, just remember if you have a hot car.. I'm melting !) It is a small store, so not... More

We have been eating and selling candy for school and Boy Scout fund raisers from Wolfgang's for many years. We recently took the grandsons in for a tour as something to do over the summer. They are friendly and informative and you end up taking home a lot of sweet chocolate!

I haven't been here since my kids were young. I thought it would be fun to take the grandkids to see how candy is made. My grands are 9, 7 & 5. It was like walking into Willy Wonka's chocolate shop. The kids were enthralled be the super large lollipop displayed for sale as we walked into the shop. There... More

We went on the tour and had a charming group of students from the YMCA that were there as well. The tour guide gave an informative lesson about the history of the business and did an excellent job on including the students and making it fun for them. I think we enjoyed the tour even more because of the children.... More
