Description:

Because of the food safety restrictions, we can no longer offer tours through our production area. However we are able to provide a revised tour that includes a presentation of our history and a chocolate experience of how we make chocolate by hand and candy that cannot be made on a machine. You will see and learn how chocolate is tempered and how to make hollows. We also have a video available that shows plant production.

Currently our chocolate experience is available Monday thru Thurs at 1pm however with larger groups we may be able to accommodate other times.

Also, our Das Sweeten Haus retail store and museum are open most days. The Das Sweeten Haus museum features illustrations of old-time American candy craftsmen. You'll see many special display cases filled with wooden sugar molds, glass candy jars, and many other priceless antiques. You'll also see a video of the Wolfgang candy-making process ... Along with a complete history of the Wolfgang family who made their candy making dream come true in York, PA back in 1921.

We have been eating and selling candy for school and Boy Scout fund raisers from Wolfgang's for many years. We recently took the grandsons in for a tour as something to do over the summer. They are friendly and informative and you end up taking home a lot of sweet chocolate!

I haven't been here since my kids were young. I thought it would be fun to take the grandkids to see how candy is made. My grands are 9, 7 & 5. It was like walking into Willy Wonka's chocolate shop. The kids were enthralled be the super large lollipop displayed for sale as we walked into the shop. There... More

We went on the tour and had a charming group of students from the YMCA that were there as well. The tour guide gave an informative lesson about the history of the business and did an excellent job on including the students and making it fun for them. I think we enjoyed the tour even more because of the children.... More

I didn't know if they still gave factory tours because the reviews here seem conflicting. i was hoping they did, but I was scared to ask the only employee that was working. She was so unfriendly. The whole time we were there, she had her arms crossed and just stared at us. I did ask her if a particular box... More

I was looking for some Easter chocolate to put in my family's Easter baskets. The samples I tasted were very good, especially the dark chocolate and I did buy some. I was generally disappointed. This is a week before Easter on a Friday morning: The showroom is not brightly lit, there is no one to answer your questions, and many... More

A few years ago, we stumbled upon Wolfgang Candy Company when we were in the area. Each time we're in York, PA, for a visit, we try to stop by Wolfgang's to stock up on our favorites, one of which is the Belgian dark chocolate with cacao nibs. Mmm-mmm! On our most recent visit, we discovered these amazing treats: dark... More

What a really nice little old town kind of chocolate and candy maker. It was really neat to see some of the machinery and the things I had on display. Unfortunate I didn't have time for the tour of what they do tours of the factory which must be exciting. Off of 83 so stop on in if you're in... More

We went to the company in the days after the blizzard, so parking was difficult, but it was worth it. Our little tour was conducted by the wonderful lady who does the hand made molds, and runs the store. She took us through the process of making chocolate molds and the science behind it. It is a sweet subject. The... More
