Wow, first time here and I love it!! Small boat rental, camping, picnic area and pavilions. We are here just as the leaves are turning. Plenty of easy path through the woods to follow, on the way we saw, deer tracks and deer droppings, but no deer. I guess at the right time of the year, you may even see an eagle soaring. We would definitely return to this park, and definitely recommend this park to everyone!! I hope this was helpful 👍🏻…

It took me awhile to find a state park in the area that had good reviews on the cleanliness of the facilities. But this park was great. Not too crowded. The bathrooms were cleaned daily and well attended to. The showers were hot. You are allowed to pick up wood and kindling off the ground, which was very helpful. We also bought some firewood down the road from the campground for about $7 a bundle. Usually the pool concession stand sells ice and firewood but we were there last week (September 9) and it had closed a few days before. The hiking trails were lovely. I particularly recommend the Larch Tree Trail. The red pines are stunning. The lake is great though no swimming is permitted and you can't see the lake from the campsite though it is very close - there are trees in the way. The swimming pool is pretty small but looked like it would be a nice place for young kids.…

This is my family's go-to campground and we absolutely love it here. Everyone is very friendly, bathrooms are cleaned regularly and the sites are a great size - there is a lot of variation throughout. Our dogs love camping with us here as well and we've never had a problem bringing them along or walking/hiking with them. The lake is great for fishing or kayaking, the pool (while cold!) is a good cool down, and there are plenty of areas and trails to walk or bike on. It's great for families, they have a nice playground both by the pool and in the actual campground loop. You can choose to have an active stay and take advantage of the lake and trails, or you can just relax in your site as there really is never much commotion going on - even when packed. Although you can occasionally hear some road noise, it really is not bothersome. We've never had any issues here and will continue to come back as often as we can! Cannot recommend this place enough.…

This is a cute state park with decent camping, hiking, fishing, and some history which is rather interesting. It is relatively close to many amenities and it is a well cared for park

I walk in Frances Park almost every day of the year so I guess you can say I have a little vacation spot in my own backyard as I live 5 minutes away from it. I am very lucky to see nature at it”s best on a daily basis...the park is always kept clean with plenty of workers to take care of it. It is well patrolled and I feel safe thanks to the rangers and friendly/helpful staff...there is hiking and kayaking/pool swimming...picnic goers and dog walkers...you will see deer, ducks, geese, an occasional bear throughout the park all of which is part of our beautiful nature.…
