About Pocono Bike Rental
Pocono Bike Rental is centrally located in the heart of the Poconos, the historic timber and coal industry town of White Haven, PA. Nestled right between the newly minted D&L Black Diamond Rail Trail (10 miles) and the nationally recognized as a must see while in PA, the Lehigh Gorge Rail Trail System (26 miles). Either from a mountain biker’s (36+ miles) or a whitewater rafter’s prospective (Class 3+), it is THE PLACE to be for outdoor adventure enthusiasts! Mountain biking in the world famous Lehigh Gorge is truly like no other biking experience! Imagine yourself; comfortably riding a finely tuned bicycle over a PA State maintained former railroad bed, inside a green canopy of thousands of acres of untouched nature as mother earth intended for you to enjoy! The riding temperature inside the 1000′ walls of the Lehigh Gorge under the canopy of trees is cooler and less exposed to direct sunlight, therefore more fun!

We actually brought our own bikes, but we were shuttled to the trailhead by the guys at Pocono bike rentals, and they were great. They provided all the info we needed, both online and by phone, and they were willing to be flexible even the night before. My husband is an experienced biker but I'm more of the hit-and-miss kind, so I was a little nervous about riding 25 miles. They gave me good descriptions and advice, so I tried it and was VERY glad I did. It was gorgeous and was just a little bit downhill all the way. My kind of trail! Thanks, Pocono Bike guys!

We are so sorry to hear this, Here at PoconoBikeRental.com, we work very hard to give each and every customer a good experience. Sometimes, however, being such a small business we can fall short of both our personal expectations and the guests’. The lower part of the trail is the least popular route available and thus it is charged accordingly. As well it is a longer distance to travel, many hills and many turns through 3 towns thus causing more wear and tear on our fleet of vehicles. As well the time it takes to get staged inside the gorge once we get there and wait for the park rangers to allow us access, can sometimes be upwards of 20-30 minutes. Then after we drop off it is a greater distance to get back to our storage facilities. We still are truly sorry you felt our services were not what you expected or desired of us, to thoroughly extend our apologies, we would like to grant the person who wrote this review a free bike rental should you decide to give us a second chance! The other members of your party that day will also be granted 50% off their bike rental should they accompany you once more. We will reference the name on this review and the name on your previous bike reservation with us for your return visit. We will do our utmost to remedy your unsatisfactory experience. We know this does not fix everything, but we hope you accept our apology and do not let this effect your love of biking! Enjoy enjoy the great outdoors of the Poconos! Our Sincerest Apologies, Mr. Lee, Public Relations PoconoBikeRental.com Peace and happiness...

We had previously rented from a bike place in downtown Jim Thorpe and with covid we thought we’d rent online to be able distance from others. The website for this place we confusing and we had to call multiple times to figure it out. We thought we were renting from the other bike place and showed up to find out it was wrong. There was not a clear address posted on the website. We found out we had to meet at a park but being from out of town we did not know where that was. We go up the mountain in a cargo van and stop along the way to get bikes from in a storage locker. The other guests and my group were kind of confused at what we were doing at first. It was just so different then any other experience before. Once we got to the top we were fine and went along our merry way. They recommended a long 25 mile(turned out to be 22.4 miles) that an average person could complete. It was a struggle for us and we were glad to see the end! When we were leaving we were instructed to leave the bikes on a bike lock where we left our cars. The lock was difficult to open and we were concerned we would not be able to open it and risk the bike being stolen. Overall it was an ok experience but I think we will be going back to our original plan next time.

We are so sorry to hear this, Here at PoconoBikeRental.com, we work very hard to give each and every customer a good experience. Sometimes, however, being such a small business we can fall short of both our personal expectations and the guests’. Our 9am shuttle we sometimes get late or last minute bookings so we don't have all the bikes loaded up at that time and may need to stop at our storage facility to get more. We have been doing this for years and you are literally the FIRST complaint we ever had about having to stop and get more bikes for the last minute booking type folks. As far as directions are concerned we have an amazing amount of technology built into our entire website that gives easy to follow directions to our various pickup spots at the clearly marked trailheads. So in fact you did know EXACTLY how to find us but chose not to do the due diligence necessary to simply look at our website DIRECTIONS PAGE! Also your cell phone was sent a text message with a google map pin drop that ANYONE can easily use on their smartphone to find us. As well there are 2 google business pages online that google has made it easy for you to find us. This along with our 60+ page website is not confusing to most folks that have the time to look at it and read it thoroughly. The trail is EASY and virtually anyone who can ride a bike can finish it in around 3 hours even stopping for lunch and pictures. Some do it in 2 hours. The trail is 25 miles to Jim Thorpe downtown historic district. It is only 23.5 miles to the parking lot in Glen Onoko where we pick you up at but you are free to go the additional 1.5 miles into town. The bike locks we have are super easy to use for MOST people and we very rarely have any issues unless people forget the code and or are in such a rush they get frustrated and they usually call us for help and within seconds the lock "magically" works and they are on their way home! We still are truly sorry you felt our services were not what you expected or desired of us, to thoroughly extend our apologies, we would like to grant the person who wrote this review a free bike rental should you decide to give us a second chance! The recent rains washed alot of sand onto the graveled road and made many ruts. At times it was difficult to ride. Unexpected was the graveled path. It wasn't a smooth paved road like other parks. Not a scenic ride. Lots of shade that we were thankful for but not a cheerful, enjoyable ride. Sorry but there are other parks with better conditions

We are so sorry to hear this, Here at PoconoBikeRental.com, we work very hard to give each and every customer a good experience. Sometimes, however, being such a small business we can fall short of both our personal expectations and the guests’. If you don't enjoy one of the top 10 rail trails in the U.S.A. then I'm not sure what else to say but don't book shortly after devastating hurricanes come through town. The DCNR staff worked tirelessly to repair the trail and in such a way that would be safe and accommodating. Stick to road biking then if you don't want the word "mountain biking" to discourage you in the future. From start to finish what a great experience! Easy to book with their phone reps, ours was Dave and then when things went array Tom (the owner) was very accommodating! We were unfortunately one of the customers that didn't get picked up one morning due to the company having their van broke down. We know first hand the inability to get cars fixed in a timely fashion these days with the lack of manpower and parts shortages. Easy to rebook and once we did, we got picked up this time and we were thrilled!!! The trail is amazing and shuttle ride was fast and easy! They give out free water, granola bars, trail maps, bug spray and sunscreen! They even have charging stations for your cell phones too! I can see why as they say in the Poconos these guys are the best! Thanks again Tom for giving us a free credit to come back again to for our inconvenience!
