Kennywood is America's Finest Traditional Amusement Park! Located just outside Pittsburgh, PA, Kennywood offers a unique mix of classic rides and modern thrills, including six roller coasters, a 14-ride Kiddieland, and several attractions that cannot be found anywhere else, including the newly revamped Noah's Ark, recognized by "Amusement Today" as the world's best walkthrough/funhouse attraction for the past six years. Kennywood's three wooden coasters have all been designated Landmark rides by the American Coaster Enthusiasts (ACE). Founded as a trolley park in 1898 and named a National Historic Landmark in 1987, Kennywood guarantees unforgettable fun for all ages. The experience goes well beyond the rides, as guests enjoy homemade fudge, Deep Fried Oreos, tasty funnel cakes, and Kennywood's world-famous Potato Patch fries! Whether you're celebrating a birthday, having a party, hosting a company picnic or family reunion, Kennywood has large and inviting private party areas with delicious meal options to please even the pickiest eaters.

The Thunder Bolt and Jack Rabbit lived up the hype I had heard about them. The whip was fun as well. I loved that this park seem so family oriented and smaller than most theme parks. Every ride cane be ridden in one day trip.

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh and came here many times as a child and loved it! I moved to Chicago 16 years ago and haven't been to Kennywood in over a decade. I gathered a small (12) group of friends along with my boyfriend and we spent a LOVELY day at Kennywood. It was somewhat crowded on Labor... More

I want to first start off that I am a level 6 Contributor, This is my worst experiences since starting Trip advisor in 2008. I am not just someone with a chip on my shoulder. I Arrived on 9/11/2016 around 12:30 . What a nightmare experience ,Cars lined up to the highway blocking all roads. When we got into the... More

The park is a historical landmark. It sure is! Long on history and the weathering of many years. Some rides closed and park in need of some clean up and care. Employees need training and attitudes need to be adjusted. Having a possible dangerous situation pointed out should at least drawn a "Thank you we will look into it", would... More

As you enter the park the nostalgia already hits you the feeling of days of old. Yet you look across the sky line at a mixture of modern and classic rides alike. It doesn't get much better than this.

Love this park for the great atmosphere, the great attractions, the classic and new roller coasters and the incredible food. Can't beat the classic wooden roller coasters at this park, they are a must! The newer steel roller coasters are great attractions as well. You cannot visit this park without grabbing some homemade Bacon Cheddar fries from the Potato Patch,... More

A December 5th visit was greeted with mild weather, and a strong crowd. Many previous social media complaints was the long line for the new 4-D theater's Polar Express. I have a suggestion....go there first. Seems rather simple. It's a great addition, and lots of kids in line agree. The model train display is awesome. I wish it was in... More

Thank you for sharing your review with the TripAdvisor community! We're so glad your family enjoys Kennywood so much. The combination of mild weather and new attractions made for record-setting crowds last winter during Holiday Lights, and we are taking steps to provide more attractions to better accommodate crowds that we again expect to be large. And as you said,... More

In the past 10 years Kennywood has really come down hill. We went the first few days of August and many of the rides were only operating one train and the employees were very unfriendly. The historical lovely rides like the carousel did not have any lights on and it just seemed like they were scrimping trying to save money... More

Hi Ashley, we are sorry to hear you did not enjoy yourself. With some extreme heat in early August, we had the lights off on the Merry Go Round at select times to protect and preserve the ride's electrical system. The majority of our coasters operate two trains at all times, and second trains are added to the Phantom's Revenge... More

Awe, this is what is announced ever year (just before summer) in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania when Kennywood amusement park opens their door for family fun. Whether you are single, have teenagers, or children knee high of a Dingo (Australian humor), you will love this park! Went with the family on Labor Day Sunday with family. The family was there on a past visit and for a reason I don't remember they were given either free or reduced price entrance to the Park.
